I was certain that Trump was cynically using visual propaganda in a way that took advantage of the utter dupes and dopes that are his people, but the above interview snippet sure does look like someone showed Trump the picture of the knuckle tattoos, helpfully Photoshopped so that he would understand the interpretation of them, and took it to be, uh, part of the picture.  

People around him are offering cynical visual propaganda to use, but he's such a Fox News pilled dopey old grandpa, he believes what he's being told to say.

We saw this just earlier in his Time Magazine interview as well:

"That's not what my people told me--they didn't say it was, they said it was--the nine to nothing was something entirely different."

Yeah. Sometimes his people don't tell him anything, and sometimes they completely lie to his big stupid face, apparently.

Desperate weak boychild Trump doesn't get it--Putin isn't his bestie. That's part of what made him so mad when President Zelenskyy quite correctly pointed out that Putin had violated ceasefires before. Trump was MAD, I tell you! Because who would dare to question the rilly rilly tight bestie relationship Trump had with the guy who very obviously did not support an entire bot/disinfo network to make him president as if he was a total fucking patsy who could be easily manipulated into rolling over for Russia by financial or conspiracy theory means? Putin thought he was a useful tool-a puppet? As if!

Trump has complained a few times lately that Putin went through the Mueller investigation (the "Russia, Russia, Russia hoax") and maybe is also pretty sure the first impeachment impacted on Putin as well. 

Was he on the phone with his bestie? Did Putin comfort him and tell him they were in it together? 

Because whatever Trump was going through, Putin was safe in Moscow laughing his ass off that the US was having some chaos. No way, no how, was Putin BOTHERED in any way about what happened to Trump. 

TWGB: Citizen Krasnov?

 

I'm just a simple, mostly reality-based blogger, and I have to admit, the "Krasnov" story about Trump being recruited by KGB in the 1980s both interests and concerns me. On one hand, I'm skeptical, because I remember the "Steele Dossier" dropping shortly before Trump's first term and well-enough after the election and coloring all investigation into the Trump/Russia ties in the public opinion with a hint of scurrility. 

In the public mind, everything regarding the connection between Trump and Russia was supposedly a little bit fake, because despite every nugget of fact that Trump did seem oh so very partial to Russia and enamored with Putin, we were supposed to not connect the dots and fail to acknowledge the evidence of our eyes.  The Republican US Senators who wrote the intelligence report on Russia's connection to Trump concluded they most certainly did help him in 2016. 

So, I get the game by now--let's call this a "limited hangout". Maybe there was an attempt at a KGB recruitment of Trump--after all, he subsequently did publicly downgrade NATO--what is up with that? 

Maybe Trump is just a dipshit who misunderstands NATO as, not a defense against Russian aggression, but a kind of protection racket. He is kind of stupid.  Is that so wrong? (For someone in the office of the presidency--it is so much wrong it is like a mirror universe, an "opposite day", an abortion of reality.) 

And what of Trump's business connections--oh, shit, well, here's the thing. Trump's good friend Rudy Guiliani oversaw the transition from the Italian to the Russian mob SOME PEOPLE SAY. Anyway, there's a good book about Trump business and mafia and mafiya connections from Craig Unger. Is it persuasive? Folks don't want to say--but me, I think probably.

I mean, my rational brain has no proof of anything going on that would stop Trump (Musk and Vance and their various going concerns through Trump) from taking office, but some part of me really, really thinks there ought to be? 

Like it's dumb and not happening and no controlling mechanism that I know of--but still?

I would very much prefer it if a kind of lunatic corrupt, insurrectionist jackaloon was not going to be made president just because a whole bunch of my fellow countrymen seem to be dumb, spiteful, mis-and dis-informed shooting pigeons. As if there actually were grown-ups somewhere who could call a do-over or takesies-backsies or something. I know these aren't real things!

Someone's angry MAGA mee-maw became profanely enraged when advised that she can't come in to vote with her Trump shirt so she goes ahead and votes in her foundational garment.

Anyway, Trump's lil mini-me JD Vance rolled his eyes so hard his eyeliner flaked and responded:

A lot of people took this to mean he supported being abusive to poll workers, and wow! That truly seems to be the MAGA vibe.

Trump is calling migrant people murderers, rapists, deadbeats, everything but a child of God. He's going harder than he has before on his ethnic cleansing plan. He's associating people of color with low IQ and cultural incompatibility, and insists every one of them is a danger and a failure of a permissive immigration system. 

They--taxpayers and members of the communities they live in, are hogging up your services, he implies. I don't know about you, but I don't go to the hospital unless I need it. Health care in this country isn't free. I assume anyone taking up a hospital bed is actually sick and not looking for some luxury treatment--that is stupid. I believe all children should have access to education, and I truly argue that this can't get your kid into a school thing is actually mindbogglingly stupid. 

Of course you can. Maybe public schools are strained, but they exist, and they take your kid. And migrants are paying taxes, so let's do something about funding public schools better.

Trump doesn't know anything about that real-life situation because he never lived a life where his kids went to public school. When Obama talked about this man never changing a diaper--he is expressing something about the out-of- touch unreality Trump has ALWAYS lived in. Has he bought a loaf of bread in a store? Does this idiot really think people who don't speak English are dangerous? 

This man is talking about revoking birthright citizenship and rounding up all kinds of people to get deported. Even people determined to be here legally before. This is no joke to me--my husband of 22 years is the son of two green-card holders. He was born here. But for political reasons? I mean--he's married to me.

Ae we back to the late 19th century or early 20th asking ourselves who is White enough to be here? What about Italians? What about the Irish? What about Slavs? What about the Jews Trump thinks are the bad kind who have lost their minds and don't support him? 

TWGB: Fall of the House of Trump?

 

Trump, looking mad as a coot and wheezing faintly, made up for the lack of public appearances he has made lately by offering an hour of his time to reporters at Mar-A-Lago. It was awkward. Usually, Trump is one burnt-ochre joker, projecting bravado and landing insults--even if he's vague on policy or leery of answering questions directly. Here, he seemed pale, tired, sandbagged by recent events. 

Among weird damn things he said: he might have confused Jerry Brown and Willie Brown in a story about a helicopter ride. Both gentlemen have the same last name and are longstanding figures in California politics but there are some differences. Trump never told Willie Brown to rake the damn forest to prevent fires, for example. (I know Trump alleges he has survivor's guilt over a tragic helicopter ride from like 30 years ago or so, but that's about another coast entirely.) 

He sadly whinged on about how President Joe Biden must be feeling--with his "presidency stollen" (I swear!) from him. Shades of this post on his FAILING! Truth Social:

It reminds me that he went out of his way to defame, and continued to defame, two Black, female election workers, also in Georgia.  But because my government name ends in the same vowel as his, let me help him with the pronunciation of Ms. Willis' name:

Trump Talking to Libertarians Did Not Go Well

Now, Trump is just enjoying the latitude of his pre-felon days.  He will most likely receive convictions by-and-by. The whole thing where Trump thought it would be great to talk to the Libertarian Party and try to win them over was kind of frustrated by his own teams' efforts. They planted MAGAs in the NY Young Republicans in Libertarian seats and got stroppy about protest shows like rubber chickens asking Trump to debate Bob (Kennedy--naturally). It was not great. 

Trump got uniformly booed--but who is speaking up for him? His Renfields. 

Look at Senator Mike Lee, head shaven, about to bang a tambourine to collect money for this entire asshole at the airport:

No other president in U.S. history could have done that—show up at the convention of a political party not his own and garner substantial support.

Joe Biden certainly couldn’t.

I’d love to see him try it.

What if, instead of Biden being dumb enough to do that, he was smart enough to not do that, which is actually being better than Trump is, because Trump is a desperate little fuck trying to stay out of prison?  Because Trump doing that was very desperate and dumb?  And Mike Lee's desperate clinging to Trump's unraveling bolero coattails is very embarrassing. For him, even if he is too stupid to feel it.

This is the cult-like ethos of "Trump cannot fail, he can only be failed." 

We're used to a certain level of TrumpWorld embellishment about crowd size--like the Bronx rally lies. This was an actual disaster--he couldn't seed his MAGAs in the crowd adequately to counter the actual Libertarians, and he couldn't avoid going off-script and negging them. 

They aren't my political cup of tea, but that doesn't make them stupid. They did not love being told their candidates get 3% anymore than Trump should love having done this because he has to hustle after points. They booed Mike Lee because they see the tyranny.

I didn't post anything this weekend because I'm getting over some kind of extremely fatiguing chesty coughing situation, and also, too, when Trump compared himself to Nelson Mandela, my brain just kept frantically hitting the "NOPE" button.  Oh, hell no, we are not talking about how Trump is not Jesus followed by how he is not Madiba. Trump is not the oppressed. Trump is far from a founder of this country--he;s a homewrecker. Then, the House Judiciary Committee posted Trump as the whole mammy-jamming eclipse.  A blockhead who blocks the sun. 

Well done, cult members. You've finally described him correctly. He's a temporary obstruction blocking daylight: but daylight will prevail. 

Yep, one of the constant stories of these TrumpWorld grab-bags is Trump, the obstructer. The delayer. He is only transparent to the effect that he desperately despises transparency. And you can easily see that part--the NDAs, the Byzantine business structure, the Omerta, the stalling subpoenas and other dilatory bids of various kinds, all throughout his business and political career.
