A Golf Clap for Mr. Trump

You know, the sort of thing a tyrant can't really cope with is generally the small stuff grown people usually don't sweat, like being the butt of a joke or losing at something every now and again. In order to cope with being Donald Trump, he has to cheat at golf and win awards for matches held at his own clubs. Joe Biden gets that.

We are still living in the world where President Obama and Seth Myers may have awakened a sleeping ego-monster, after all.

On the eve of the day Trump is supposed to pony up his bond for his appeal, pay his settlement, or watch as the process of asset seizure begins, it sems likely to me that Trump, the beneficiary of many unearned prizes, who was denied the opportunity to "earn" a Purple Heart by his damned bone-spurs and has yet to see that Nobel Prize chucked his way, really needed the morale boost a participation first place trophy gives him

Now maybe I am way off base. After all, Trump could be a great golfer given how often he plays. In a world where we used to just talk about "country club Republicans", here is the guy who own the country clubs! For now.  And who looks more at home in a golf cart?  (I've been to Sicily, though--it is indeed a very hilly walk.) And maybe President Biden truly wishes Don Poorleone well because after all, he was a little rough on him earlier this week.

That being said, in honor of Joe Biden being a bigger man (from what I hear) I am following his lead and offering a golf clap. It isn't the first clap Trump has received from a nasty woman by a long shot, I am sure.

Trump's Revealing Post

This morning, Trump made a post to his Truth Social that was almost certainly ill-advised. Probably because he consulted only the legal brain trust of Ego, Superego, and Id, LTD. After his lawyers took pains to try to get a stay of the judgment day for his fraud civil trial settlement by claiming the impossibility of putting up a bond, Trump is now telling everyone he has it in the form of cash. Which is just fine--I am sure no one would like to hear that more than Letitia James. It does make me ask some questions though:

1) Why did thirty companies refuse to give him a bond, including Chubb, the source of his defamation civil trial bond?

2) If you just have the cash, why have one's lawyers pretend you don't just for a stay?

3) And per the post on Truth Social, since when does he spend his own money on his political campaigns? And how would Engoron know he was planning on this stunning change of heart regarding using his own money for anything, when even his legal fees are being picked up by OPM?

There's a good chance, if I understand how Trump uses social media by now, that this was a reaction to comments like those from Anthony Scaramucci regarding his Big Bad Brokeness. But here's the thing, it's like this post happens in a separate universe from the one where the Truth Social merger with DWAC is supposed to make him $3 billion richer. It happened, and the IPO goes public in a very weirdly timed way--like if this was a soap opera, we'd be complaining about the writers just pulling this convergence of events together as being contrived.

And yet--it doesn't fix his little red MAGA wagon and send him on his way, does it?

Only the Rapes that Matter

It was Elise Stefanik who let me know how Republican women were going to wear their shame this year: gossamer, barely there, nearly naked--shame like a second skin, all-surrounding, she announced that E. Jean Carroll was a liar and the media was just fluffing her up. Was the determination of his guilt actually made by a jury? So what? Juries can be misled. Peerless leader may have dozens of women who accuse him, but the reality is, he has had, nonetheless, dozens of women. Because he is who and what he is. And the GOP has made peace with that. He's their sex pest. Their letch.

It's hard for me to think they haven't granted him droit de seigneur over the new brides honeymooning at Mar-a Lago or Bedminster.  After all, we knew about the TMZ tape and dozens of claims of sexual assault back in 2016. And he somehow won, with the support of the religious right. People like Katie Britt, who gave the SOTU rebuttal, support Trump, even while she decries the horrific sex trafficking that has, supposedly, something to do with lax border control right now, while she speaks of things that happened 20 years ago, and not in the US at all.

Does she just not know that Trump goes way back with traffickers like Jeffery Epstein? Are we just going to ignore who Trump's associates have been

I just don't think the sleaze-puddle that is Trump's modeling business and beauty contest associations have been really explored. There's reason to think the whole Q/Pizzagate sex dungeon mole-children shit is just weirdo projection to distract from ""billionaire"" Trump's constant penising around female people, whether they invited it or not.

TWGB: Raining Bad Pennies

This post is brought to by Bell's Theorem, karma and the tendency of criminals to return to the scene of the crime. If this opening sentence doesn't make sense, wait for it. I've been waiting for the NY civil trial decision and the immunity thing like all of you guys. The waiting is either the hardest part as Petty proclaimed, or the special sauce as hedonists everywhere have discovered to their throbbing surprise and delight.

Discovering that Trump's data protection suit against Christopher Steele was rejected was a fun thing to trip over on a Thursday morning. There's no good reason to have brought that case, and no good reason to file it when it got filed except--as a warning that Trump will try to sue you eventually if you say mean things about him ever? I don't know UK law, but this was rejected for statute of limitations, which really feels to me like he didn't want the suit, just the message the making the suit sends. And his campaign paid for the pleasure of a lolsuit. (Level Law--the firm--it's in his FEC reports. Donors are paying for the pleasure of Trump satisfying his grudges.)

Trump's predicament is dumb. What if there were a suit that had to deal with the data in the dossier, which would be rehashing shit that could have come up in 2016--NOW?! Me? I think there were a LOT OF THINGS we could have discussed about Trump in 2016 that we didn't. And now it's 2024, there's SO MUCH MORE.

TWGB: Who is the Fairest One of All?

Donald Trump is very jealous that Taylor Swift is prettier than him and has a football player boyfriend and is the Time Magazine Person of the Year. And she did it all herself.  So he wants to send his flying monkeys to let her know he IS SO more popular than her. He was president once you know, and probably still has papers in his possession that prove it! He's still BIG. It's just the Deep State and the Lying Media's fault he looks SMALL.

He'll show them! He's ready for his close-up, Mr. DeMille!

Just, maybe not so close. And with a bit of a filter, And with so much makeup it looks like he's applying shoe polish to his face.

Deciding he needs to go after a female pop star just after a hefty defamation decision against him sounds like just the sort of beef he would get into. Being appalling to women is one of his hobbies, after all. And consider that it's women who are or would be giving and have given him the most trouble. The nasty Hillary Clinton, who first pegged him as a national security threat and his followers as a basket of deplorables. Nancy Pelosi of the two impeachments. Letitia James. Fani Willis. Nikki Haley. Stormy Daniels, E. Jean Carroll, Roberta Kaplan, Tanya Chutkan...

TWGB: It Should Cost Him More

The news that the jury in Trump defamation trial of E. Jean Carroll came back fairly swiftly with a verdict in the amount of $83 million gave me a sense of deja vu--it hadn't taken that long for a jury to decide the first defamation case in Ms. Carroll's favor, either. Now, our scandal-ridden former president owes her nearly $90 million. His not-especially good lawyer, Alina Habba, says they will appeal.

I don't think they should. I think they are the most unappealing bunch imaginable.

Maybe delay has been a key strategy of Trump's with respect to his legal woes during an exceptionally legally contentious life, but this is wearing thin and is bound to have diminishing returns. Can he put up the bond for the amount of his judgments? Is he as liquid as he said he was (considering he's got the likely 9-figure judgment in his NY civil trial coming up)? And isn't he just bringing more and more attention to his miserable behavior?

As I've long covered here, his behavior doesn't diminish him in the eyes of the true MAGA believer. They can dismiss that Trump is a life-long sex pest because the real problem they have is with someone pointing it out. Take Elise Stefaniak or Nancy Mace--they don't care. And maybe TrumpWorld doesn't bat an eyelash that Trump's defenders include Matt Schlapp and Rudy Giuliani*--both under scrutiny for sexual misconduct.

TWGB: Epstein and the Other Shit

Trump is on the Epstein flight record and he made Acosta a cabinet member and Bill Barr, whose Daddy had a connection with young Epstein, visited the prison where the notorious pedophile pimp was stowed and the man dies shortly thereafter, and this is not actually anything Trump fans are concerned about, as previously well-noted. We know what Trump is and has been--he likes young girls and surrounded himself with pimps and pedophiles for years. And was involved with young, attractive women as often as possible

But you know what? Trump fans are rape apologist culture personified. He's supported by the religious right, the refuge of pedo pastors and promoters of the gospel of blaming the victim. That Trump is a godly man or a man of faith is a little lie the Trump cult likes to tell themselves.  It's a part of the bigger picture of the true Trump Derangement Syndrome. The Trump they have is lacking, so the faithful make up the Trump they want. It goes with the fake prophesies about Trump as chosen by GOD (so why did he lose 2020?)

Trump will tell them, and you, like he wants to tell the courts--it was STOLLEN! Like, he's entering a 32-page round-up of voter fraud lies to an actual court. Shades of German servers and Italian satellites and Venezuelan software and bamboo ballots. Take it from Ken Block, who was hired by Trump to look into voter fraud--it was not a thing.

But Trump loves that Big Lie. And in light of his adopting the language of "vermin" and "dictatorship", it's a good idea to see where he's going with the Lost Cause, Big Lie of his election--

He thinks he wants to rally in Madison Square Garden and other places he is not supposed to be a winner, in hope of winning not just swing states, but blue states.  So, that's great--because he pretended in 2016 he could have won California except for all the immigrants cheating (a lie he still makes to this day--that somehow, there's a magic path where people come over the Mexico border, get magic double-secret citizenship, and can suddenly vote in elections--he's barking fucking mad).

TWGB: TrumpWorld is Definitely Not OK

You know, all I wanted to do last night was post a little bit about Rudy Giuliani fixing to sue President Biden, but I fell asleep at the computer because it got so deep in the weeds, and as of today, there was more to the story:

Look, I think it's great that Rudy Giuliani found lawyers to take this case even though he is being sued by some of his other lawyers for not getting paid and can't seem to keep a Georgia-based counselor to save his behind. He's getting sued by Hunter Biden, of course, and by a former employee alleging sexual assault and harassment which is a case involving details that are profoundly stomach-churning. But these guys believe enough in Rudy Giuliani to pursue a case where his allegations are that Joe Biden's crack about Giuliani being a Russian pawn spreading disinfo cost him his reputation and millions of dollars of business--

In a way actually being a source of Russian disinfo, making wild pronouncements about a stolen election with shoe polish running down his face, putting on a presser at a landscaping service, farting COVID into the face of his stolen election co-counsel, losing his license to practice because of his shoddy ethics and being so frequently intoxicated that it's part of the investigation into the attempt of the Trump Team to steal the 2020 election are not the ACTUAL THINGS that screwed Giuliani's reputation?

TWGB: Here's to the Losers

Once upon a time, in a far-off land called TrumpWorld, a would-be king promised there would be "so much winning" that people would get bored of winning.  I still don't know what that means, and I've studied it like it was my job. It sounds like something a conman would say. But lately--there has not been a lot of winning. One term, two impeachments, three marriages, four indictments, five deferments, six bankruptcies  (six point drop after missing the first GOP primary 2024 debate), seven trials, probably going on eight (Arizona? Michigan?) or even nine.

The losers for August 30th include Pete Navarro, who can't claim executive privilege that Trump didn't claim for him and will go to trial in a whole minute for contempt. He seems to have thought Trump won in 2020, (or alleged to), but the sign held up behind him reminds us Trump most certainly did not. And any rational person would realize that, by the utter lack of Trump in the White House right now. Navarro tried to wrest the sign away from the protester and was advised he was on camera and you know.

Loser.

TWGB: It's Raining Shoes!

It certainly has been a minute, hasn't it? So, what brings me out of self-imposed blogging exile, if not something very relevant to my...
