TWGB: TrumpWorld is Definitely Not OK

You know, all I wanted to do last night was post a little bit about Rudy Giuliani fixing to sue President Biden, but I fell asleep at the computer because it got so deep in the weeds, and as of today, there was more to the story:

Look, I think it's great that Rudy Giuliani found lawyers to take this case even though he is being sued by some of his other lawyers for not getting paid and can't seem to keep a Georgia-based counselor to save his behind. He's getting sued by Hunter Biden, of course, and by a former employee alleging sexual assault and harassment which is a case involving details that are profoundly stomach-churning. But these guys believe enough in Rudy Giuliani to pursue a case where his allegations are that Joe Biden's crack about Giuliani being a Russian pawn spreading disinfo cost him his reputation and millions of dollars of business--

In a way actually being a source of Russian disinfo, making wild pronouncements about a stolen election with shoe polish running down his face, putting on a presser at a landscaping service, farting COVID into the face of his stolen election co-counsel, losing his license to practice because of his shoddy ethics and being so frequently intoxicated that it's part of the investigation into the attempt of the Trump Team to steal the 2020 election are not the ACTUAL THINGS that screwed Giuliani's reputation?

That's a very ballsy fucking move on everyone's part, and definitely not something that could just dredge up so many deeply uncomfortable discovery requests from a competent Biden defense.  (That "definitely not" that I just italicized? That was sarcasm!)

But wait! There's worse! Because today, we learned that the IRS put a half a million-dollar lien on his Palm Beach residence. And I said "Goddamn! That isn't the house he has up for sale, is it?" and, no, that's his Manhattan house

Somehow he can still buy his lady a big old ring and take jet planes and sue the President though.  I guess rich people do being broke differently from how working folks do. Anyway, bummer about the IRS. Shit like paying taxes slips away from you when you're using. Giuliani can ask Hunter Biden about it. There's sometimes programs available when you get sentenced for your felonies though, so....

Anyway, speaking of TrumpWorld attorneys and lawsuits, Trump just dropped his lawsuit against Michael Cohen. That looked to be an intimidation attempt by Trump due to Cohen being a likely star witness at the hush money trial, but um, it wasn't working and the likelihood that that deposition would have incriminated him was proof that sometimes, dumb is as dumb does. Trump was probably about to piss off the judge for that one anyway by delaying the case he started. (But he kept an option to start the suit up again, just like he might start up his RICO claim against Hillary Clinton for the crime of doing oppo research which all campaigns do and irreparably impairing him by...I don't know what, since he won.)

He also moved to dismiss a case against him by Jack Smith regarding the thing of when he tried to overturn the election claiming he had presidential immunity, and haven't we been here before and it doesn't fly at all?  And how is violating the law six ways to Sunday part of his presidential job when his oath of office is to uphold the Constitution? Like Tom Fitton, I'm an English Lit major not a lawyer, but I have questions about how bullshit that sounds. He might have limited personal liability from civil damages, but that does not exculpate him from criminal liability! Also too, the Senate impeachment doesn't make this some kind of double jeopardy. Why are Trump's lawyers just filing any trash that comes to Trump's mind? Is he paying them for all this? (They should really ask that, now. Because for how long and with what sanctions?)

Also (OMG, TrumpWorld is so fucking BUSY lately) Trump and all them have to figure out who owns what with who regarding all of their multiple, multiple shell companies, which is probably not a great disclosure to have to make, because it means yeah, these businesses are getting their licenses yanked and also, Trump and all them got told not to move a penny without reporting it to the monitor. Because the court understands what is up with Trump.

Here's what's not up with Trump--being Speaker of the House. (I could almost catch religion from that alone!) He wants Jim Jordan, the disciple that he loves, to take that honor. And that makes sense in a way--Jordan has been a veteran of the House and Trump is too busy and not a part of Congress to totally deal with the Speakership, and also, Jordan will take orders from Trump and the blame if anything fails. Trump does not like responsibility for failures. This working relationship will go just ggggrrrrrrreeeeaaaaaattttt. Good luck Gymbo! I hope someone doesn't drop a whole documentary about your turning a blind eye to the sexual assault of minors on you (without everyone in the whole world noticing).

Oh, right! And then there was this thing we learned that Trump totally talked about very specific top secret nuclear weapons capability to a regular billionaire Mar-A-Lago member that only got spread to like, a couple, three four dozen, a lot of people. So Trump was not just hoarding docs in his bathroom, his ballroom, the things literally no one ever would do, but talking quite frankly about our nuclear capability to randos as if he was a nuclear submarine salesman.

A fresh coat of paint is smarter than this man. A pinch on the arm is smarter than this man. Necco wafers are smarter than this man. A bowling ball in a fish tank makes more sense than this man. He's the best the GOP has got. They are not bringing us their best. But in case you were worried, he's not just letting any old weirdo deal with NARA anymore.  (After his previous wont, per Cassidy Hutchinson, he was doling out classified docs by the bag to friendly reporters whenevs.)

Holy shit. Did I get all the Trump all by himself the last couple of days drama? Damn.

Also, too, Mike Lindell is very broke and can not pay his lawyers and they don't want to work for him anymore. But you know what? Lindell says he would do it all again. And isn't that something?

(I don't know what. You tell me. I don't think get it. But it's something!)

What a waste of their lives. I don't understand why they do this. In a few short years, Mr Giuliani will be forgotten. Maybe some body somewhere will smirk when they hear the words "shoe polish".

Mr. Trump will also be forgotten, but it will take longer, because of his cult. Memento mori.

I wonder what they will say about us? Probably they will be disappointed. Hindsight has privileges.

Yeah, sadly, to the extent Trump will be remembered I think it will be a caricature, the most obvious lines of his depravity laid bare by time, with the flesh and familiarity of celebrity swept away to leave the infamy--and because of that, people will say the things they say about monsters all the time: how didn't people know? Weren't all the signs there? And of course, some people always saw what he was and some people would always have been against him. But that our society was broken enough for him to get a toehold just in retrospect does not make us look great in the aggregate.
