Kevin McCarthy Found Out

This wasn't a slow news day, by any means. You know, Hunter Biden got arraigned on his BS gun charge and pled not guilty. Laphonza Butler got sworn in by Vice-President Kamala Harris, one former Black woman Senator of California swearing in another. And I wish her much success. And the former president seems to have gotten his mad wish to get a gag order imposed on him, because he didn't just savage the AG and the judge in his idiotic and rash diatribes but roped in the court clerk. What the entire hell? Calling this person Chuck Shumer's girlfriend. Promoting a low-count social media conspiracy theory. It's limited to court staff but I can easily imagine Trump fucking up and finding out. He isn't known for self-control. (He also dropped off the Forbes list. It's bad up in Trump's headspace you guys.)

But the big news is Kevin McCarthy got the shove. The equivalent of Chekhov's gun was the Gaetz trigger. Kevin McCarthy accepted his Speakership with a sword dangling over his table. It got deployed because he made the foolish gesture of trying to be an adult in the room when too many of the children hated grown-ups. And he went on to malign the actual grown-ups in the room with him--Democrats.

And it wasn't the first time he fucked around. McCarthy fucked over the 1/6 committee multiple times to please Trump and his little fan club.  He fucked over Liz Cheney. He had poor strategy over the debt ceiling

Newt Gingrich was mad then, and he's mad now--it makes his House GOP look like such fuckups! I still wish ol' Newt would recognize his children, but he's right that chaos agents like Matt Gaetz are fucking up the ability of Republicans to lead even with their slim majority because they are fractured and fractious.  They don't want to govern, they want to signify. It is just astonishing, ASTONISHING! what can occur when drama queens think you can do government shut-downs and the like because of personal grievance

(Hello, my name is Vixen Strangely. You killed my belief in bipartisanship. Prepare to die.)

Anyway, while Kevin McCarthy was doing for the most part what his party's extremists wanted anyway, who cares if Scalise or Stefaniak or whoever replaces him? Same shit, different Speaker. Democrats aren't responsible for the stupid bargain McCarthy took to even be speaker--but they know they will be blamed anyway.

You want no Democrats to support you Kevin? They already knew you were this guy. And if Troy Nehls or whatever other fucker wants to suggest Trump for Speaker--aw shit. Do that. See how popular the GOP can be with a four-time indicted rapist shit for brains shuttling between his many, many trials and incapable of counting on his fingers and toes will be in office.

Anyway, Kevin says he isn't trying it again, and that's right. And I think MAGAs will realize Trump is too involved in his trials right now to be a speaker. So Scalise? Stefaniak?

What about ousting Matt Gaetz from the House at all? For just being a signpost to all the dysfunctions?

I dunno. I'm a little mad that every minute they spend on figuring out the structure of their new leadership is time they aren't participating in the utter fail Biden impeachment clusterfuck. That was ugly and unnecessary and obviously partisan bullshit. But that's just gluttony isn't it? I should be happy to watch them fall apart however they chose no matter what version of fail I prefer.

Anyway, temporary Speaker of the House Patrick McHenry threw a hissy and decided Nancy Pelosi should vacate her current office while she is siting shiva with the Feinstein family and can't be there to oversee the move. The petty bitchness of these people

We must go to whatever lengths to vote all House Republicans out; they are the worst people imaginable.

In response, the Squeaker Pro Tempe is ordering Democrats out of their offices and conservatives love it because conservatives hate America

Yeah, the ouster of Pelosi from her office space was followed by kicking out Steny Hoyer--and it was EXACTLY because of pettiness and Kevin the Weasel McCarthy wanting to claim the real estate of a person far more accomplished than himself. The GOP can't respect Democrats and don't even see Democrats as Americans--their "Real America" vs. "Blue America" BS has fully infiltrated their brains. All the RW polls like do you feel safe in a blue city?

I was born and raised in Philadelphia and work in Trenton? I don't understand the bit. Just fucking have situational awareness and live your fucking life. WTF? I don't open carry, concealed carry, carry on my wayward son or carrion for the vultures. I just exist as a supposedly vulnerable white female in urban spaces like I belonged anywhere and fail to be expired.

One day or everyday, the idea that there's a "real america" made of scared white suburban people who never learned to make friends at school is going to come back and bite the GOP hard. I'm the married queer college girl that they can't reach in their demographics. I was built to stay mad and fight for my real real friends. I give a shit about reproductive choice and how draconian anti choice people cost communities their ob/gyns and hospital maternity wings. I give a shit about how my friends' kids duck and cover not just for school shooters, but for the mass shooting reality of the rest of their lives. I want the GOP to stop their war on the America they really have never put first and actually figure out how to put AMericans first: real wages, benefits, etc. And they won't, and only the Democrats do that.

And so there. This is why Democrats didn't prop up McCarthy. He's more of the same old same mold. Just another rotter.

If the shoe were on the other foot, would the Repubs have supported a thus embattled Dem speaker?
