I took a bit of a vacation from political blogging because every time I look at Trump and company, all I can feel is pure and simple disgust. I can barely scrape it together to rhetorically fluff the corruption and assholery into something mildly amusing, anymore. In the clip above, the president of South Africa has been subjected to an ambush of white genocide claptrap by a senile racist lunatic, and levels Trump with a quip about his obvious corruption--and Trump, unknowingly sells it: of course he would take a plane from anyone. He's a taker, a crook.RAMAPHOSA: I am sorry I don't have a plane to give you

TRUMP: I wish you did. I'd take it. If your country offered the US Air Force a plane, I would take it
RAMAPHOSA: Okay pic.twitter.com/TgvODTok9P
And everyone knows it.
Of course, this is about the "free plane" from Qatar, which has now been accepted by the Department of Defense. There is no such thing as a free plane. It will need to be hardened for use as a base f operations for the US C-i-C, and it should be inspected minutely for any surveillance devices. And the funny old thing is--Trump asked for it.
In this past week, Trump has demonstrated his wildly inappropriate and out of touch lack of temperance and proportionality with respects to journalists, celebrities, elected officials, the truth, in ways that continue to display the stress points of his ego and unfitness.
He's investigating everyone. ABC, CBS, Springsteen, Oprah, the Tooth Fairy....and some people might say it's a strategy to distract from things like his incompetent Secretary of Defense, his incompetent Secretary of Homeland Security (who does not know what habeas corpus means), his incompetent DNI, who does not seem to understand that "intelligence" and "propaganda" are two very different things. (Or any of his cabinet--there's a lot of incompetence to go around. There's a surplus, actually.)
He's not doing anything strategically. The journalists who, right now, want to argue about Biden's fitness in the office he left five months ago could certainly screw their eyeballs back into place and try looking at whether Trump is now or ever has been competent, but I guess they've still got Biden books to sell.
Here I was thinking Trump was in office partially because he sold more books. Perhaps we will be waiting until 2029 for that.
But I really think we need that discussion right now, because I already can barely handle my disgust.
