TWGB: Putting us on the Map

You know, maybe Trump can't end Russia's war in Ukraine with a phone call, or bring the hostages home from Gaza, or really do anything at all in the Middle East except make things worse, and maybe he won't bring down grocery prices and it's a whole lot to think he'll do much about fuel prices, but maybe he and his magic Sharpie can change the map

The Gulf of Mexico was the Gulf of Mexico, before there was a USA. If we have a national security issue regarding Greenland, well, we have had an air base there since 1943--Pituffik, formerly known as Thule. (Does he think it went away because the name changed? He seems to have a problem with accepting that military bases can change their name but still exist. His sense of object permanence is fleeting.)

Look you guys, we can go on about the things he had to say about banning windmills and why he can't get good water pressure (a wealthy man is getting no respect from the plumbers he stiffs, is how I choose to interpret this) and now some weird shit about how electric heaters make him itch--that stuff is simply fucking nuts, and I don't know why people hear it and still think "Gee, what a presidential character!"

He's a stunad. He can't figure out how anything works. He once said that magnets don't work when wet.  A man in his 70's said that. Maybe the people who took the Covid vaccine that RFK Jr, knows about who became magnetic because keys started sticking to them should SHOWER. Boom! Stickiness: solved. All through the genius of Donald J. Trump, whose uncle taught at MIT. Which makes him an expert in the nuclear don't you know.

Does he understand national sovereignty?  Can he really get why Canada or Greenland wouldn't really jump at the chance to be part of the US if they have their own identity that they like just fine? We can't even say for sure Puerto Rico wants to be our 51st state, so why assume anything about what other countries want?

Does he think a bloodless corporate takeover of other countries is a thing? (I guess Putin and Belarus or Hungary. But like, the for real, real West? Do we do this sort of thing?)

My obviously well-studied point is: he has no clue and is dialoging with Vance and Musk who are all up in some reset vaporware about how we can just realign this and that country and TA-DA! Much profits.

It's underwear gnome shit. From Dugin to Yarvin to Bannon, we have a shit-ton of dumbass chinstroking grifterfucks out there impressing the childbrain billionaires with "one weird trick" to either do utopia or immanentize the eschaton, and some of these sheltered ignant moneyed mofos are just: "Repost: Interesting!" about it because they haven't faced not being special little boys whose noses don't bleed when punched by life for a whole minute.

The US has been great. We are great, and Canada is great and our good ally Denmark is, and our neighbor the ir province Greenland is. This kind of ridiculous spectacle of weaponized ignorance by Trump and the people who support his stupidity badly concern me.

PS: When I was small, I watched superhero cartoons, but I am very weird, and noticed that like, if someone like Lex Luthor wanted to take over the entire world, wasn't that a WHOLE LOT?  I mean, not fighting Superman--but fighting people who disagreed with you, a lot of them, all the time? And what if something bad happened like an earthquake or a flood--wouldn't you feel some kind of way about doing something about it? Because if not--what good are you?

And what about Ming the Merciless? There was a reason someone whose planet didn't have anything left to give said "Death to Ming!" There was a reason people wanted to support Flash Gordon even though he just showed up. Same with the Emperor and Darth Vader--they wanted to run everything and hurt people who didn't agree with them--and had to be stopped.

Because being like Ming the Merciless is bad. Being like Darth Vader and the Emperor is bad. Even a little child gets that. Why are people out here thinking the dystopias like Fahrenheit 451 and The Handmaid's Tale are and 1984 are blueprints?

An in my heart of hearts, the word always comes back to me: Because they are fucking stupid, is why

And I feel renewed! Go figure.
