Reporter: Are you going to testify?

Trump: I have a gag order. I’m not allowed to answer that question pic.twitter.com/ss1c9flfDL
Oh, he's allowed to answer the question. Donald Von Shitzinpantz can testify and talk about testifying, this has been well-established. What he can't do is denigrate the witnesses or the jurors. Now, maybe listening to this lying ass is a form of denigration to the jury--but it isn't prevented by the gag order. And for the nth time--a gag order isn't some brand-new fresh thing invented just to give Trump a hard time. It is a normal application of restraint for a defendant who is already liable to fuck with the witnesses or jury in a way detrimental to the pursuit of justice.
So if someone has a problem with Trump being under a gag order, go look at how Trump tries to fix or even rig things to his benefit. He loves the obstruction of justice because he is not a big fan of justice from Mueller to Merchan to his obviously delayed for all the fuckery reasons federal cases.
He isn't even a big fan of the Constitution if it stands in his way.
Trump doesn't believe the law should apply to him--and this was true well before he was even elected president. The only weird difference is that "Law and order" GOP folks now want to pretend that holding Trump to any standards--like a gag order that he has violated multiple times--is some peculiar political imposition. Fuck no He simply lies about things hoping his flying monkeys will swoop in and riot to save his ass. And this is not how a lawful or good person would behave.
So let's look at Clay Higgin's stupid and contemptuous pronouncement:
Hey, Judge Asshat… We ARE in contempt of your court. We find your court abhorrent. You, and your entire anti-American elitist ilk are repulsive to Patriot Americans.

This is a former LE officer and a militia supporter so--you know, the duality of jackboot in the face for regular people, absolutely no jackboot for his surrogate Daddy-figure. Absolutely the epitome of flying "Don't step on me" colors and wanting Trump to crush his balls.
And let's kick the GOP response old-school and hear from fossilized in amber 1990s villain Newt Gingrich:
Gingrich: A appointed corrupt judge who I believe is about to put Trump in prison… By what right does a judge put a former president in prison? Just ask yourself, what would it be like to be Trump in prison in New York? pic.twitter.com/ktTFbdOJKT

Let me go through this like we are all slow: judges put people in jail for violating the law. If a judge makes a ruling on the law, it is enforceable by the court. Trump is a defendant in a court of law. His being an ex-president is fucking novel, but does not exculpate him from being a citizen of the US who is subject to the laws of this country. As a person who wanted to see President Clinton persecuted or prosecuted to the fullest for just existing, you would think Gingrich would kind of get that, but no, not for media purposes, of course he would not.
What I am getting at is, the current iteration of the GOP stands very much in contempt of the law as it pertains to one Donald J. Trump, Stable Genius and also, pussy-grabber, fraud, likely Russian-influenced stooge, demented cretin, and insurrection-inciting demagogue.
Take Elise Stefanik, who wants a probe of Special Counsel Jack Smith for daring to question Trump's attempted steal of the 2020 election. This is turning reality on its head, in contempt of the law. Probably as an audition for running mate. Because the lawful process of democratic elections let Trump down, but she won't. She would throw out the violation of national security Trump represents just to get ahead--America First is a LIE! She puts herself first for Trump to notice her. That is all.
I need you all to understand this contempt for the law, evidenced in how members of the Republican party respond to Citizen Trump simply being subjected to the same laws as anyone else, is evidence of their fascistic bent. Nothing good comes from this dismissal of regular order. Such people would renounce the rule of law for themselves, only to give a double-potion of consequences to those that simply annoy them. Judges, lawyers, the press. People who protest or dissent, even on blogs or social media. Or at marches or other demonstrations.
Will we be a nation of good laws or bad men? It's the whole question of democracy, isn't it? As for me, good laws and democracy all the way.
