"What I like to do is see it...."

There are some people who aren't especially good with their words, but do actually have a grasp of the issues and will do something about them, and Herschel Walker is not one of them. I genuinely feel like the people who are working on his campaign are committing some kind of political malpractice. This man lies about things he's actually said and it almost feels like he does not remember either what he said or details of his own life. So how is he going to honestly do anything for anyone else?

Too many years ago, I taught music theory and history at a football university in flyover country. There was a jock, whom let us call "B", who was taking a second major in music (for reasons that were never quite clear, but, then again, neither was anything else). Anyhow, he took my junior-level form-and-analysis class and was far out of his depth, but he made an effort of a sort and his in-class contributions were often amusing. One day I asked for a volunteer to talk the class through a Bach fugue. B rose to that challenge and proceeded to describe the fugue, neither inaccurately nor usefully, in a single ~5 minute run-on sentence. A representative sample: "...and then he go into the dominant and he do that sh1t..." (That is verbatim, lest I be suspected of ill-intentioned parody.) At the end, everyone in the room was stifling laughter. I allowed that a moment to subside and then said, "B, 'sh1t' is not a musical term."

I guess you would have had to be there....

We may be looking at the next senator from Georgia. They voted in MTG, so their tolerance for incoherence must be pretty high.
