TWGB: Terminal Main Character Syndrome

A young DOGE staffer has left because the Wall Street Journal had some questions, as in, "Is this racist account you? " I'm sure Elon Musk is shocked--shocked! That there are little racist pishers in his Kekistanian domain.  Wow. So exotic and not-vetted

What's really funny about this is, when our actual confirmed Secretary of State, former US Senator and former presidential candidate Marco Rubio, made a big statement about not going to the G20 in Johannesburg:

I wanted to ask the Real President (tm) Elon Musk if this was the result of his bitch titties being in a wringer over the concept of the US confronting the Woke Mind Virus on what used to be his terf. I mean, "turf".

Of course, I do. I was just confused because the US is obviously in a transitional period and our pronouns stopped being US and seem to be he/huh! regarding Astroboy.

He's not the president that MAGA voted for, but he's what they got. Up in our databases, taking our numbers, deciding the size of the government HE thinks we deserve. Regardless of what any vetting into him might show, or what his conflicts of interest might be.

Ben Carson's Pyramid Scheme

He's so amazing--the idea that the pyramids are granaries is basically a medieval concept. The Pyramids are not hollow. You could not store much grain in there at all.

Also, as to his supposed "Marine Todd" moment with a physicist and the idea that the Big Bang theory isn't compatible with the first law of thermodynamics--sometimes, when a person does not answer you it's because they have decided you are a crazy person or they think you would not understand the answer. Okay--he doesn't get the Heisenberg Theorem. But the point you need to know is--if something blew up in the Big Bang, something had to exist. The organization of the matter that was thrown out by the BB followed along the lines of other laws of thermodynamics. The matter was only transformed by an event--which Einstein already told us could happen.

I'm more of a life sciences gal, but really, this is not good understanding of physics at all. But it's also pretty bad history, sloppy Bible study, and not exactly unlike his understanding of things like the economy or foreign policy. He is Head Professor of Made-up Shit at the Dunning Kruger Institute of Things Anally Extracted. He is a Norwegian Blue pining for the fjords.

This man has no pants.

Well, that's Noah's ark, sorted...

A link at Pharyngula points the way to the actual story of the Chinese-Turkish Ararat joint venture to find Noah's ark.

To wit--it's a hoax:

I was the archaeologist with the Chinese expedition in the summer of 2008 and was given photos of what they now are reporting to be the inside of the Ark. I and my partners invested $100,000 in this expedition (described below) which they have retained, despite their promise and our requests to return it, since it was not used for the expedition. The information given below is my opinion based on what I have seen and heard (from others who claim to have been eyewitnesses or know the exact details).

To make a long story short: this is all reported to be a fake. The photos were reputed to have been taken off site near the Black Sea, but the film footage the Chinese now have was shot on location on Mt. Ararat. In the late summer of 2008 ten Kurdish workers hired by Parasut, the guide used by the Chinese, are said to have planted large wood beams taken from an old structure in the Black Sea area (where the photos were originally taken) at the Mt. Ararat site. In the winter of 2008 a Chinese climber taken by Parasut’s men to the site saw the wood, but couldn’t get inside because of the severe weather conditions. During the summer of 2009 more wood was planted inside a cave at the site. The Chinese team went in the late summer of 2009 (I was there at the time and knew about the hoax) and was shown the cave with the wood and made their film. As I said, I have the photos of the inside of the so-called Ark (that show cobwebs in the corners of rafters – something just not possible in these conditions) and our Kurdish partner in Dogubabyazit (the village at the foot of Mt. Ararat) has all of the facts about the location, the men who planted the wood, and even the truck that transported it.

That's astonishing cheek they've got. I was willing to suppose they were just massively misinterpreting some pre-existing wooden structure in favor of their biases, not manufacturing one. It's really disappointing--well, no it's not as I surmised they are doing it to make a bs documentary and generate buzz and funding from the credulous, but still--dishonesty is not a nice trait to find in people.

Finding Noah's ark--oh, she said wearily, boy.

'99.9pc certainty' of Noah's Ark discovery on Mount Ararat

CHINESE and Turkish evangelical explorers believe they may have found Noah's Ark - 4000m up a mountain in Turkey.

The team said it had recovered wooden specimens from a structure on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey that carbon dating proved was 4800 years old, around the same time the ark is said to have been afloat.

"It's not 100 per cent that it is Noah's Ark but we think it is 99.9 per cent that this is it," said Yeung Wing-cheung, a Hong Kong documentary filmmaker and member of the 15-strong team from Noah's Ark Ministries International.

The structure had several compartments, some with wooden beams, which were believed to house animals, he said.

The group of evangelical archaeologists ruled out an established human settlement on the grounds that one had never been found above 3500m in the vicinity, Mr Yeung said.

I'm wondering why the Noah clan never used the Ark to get the polar bears back to the pole, the koalas back to Australia, the pandas back to China, the grizzlies back to North America, and that's just bears, which I wonder how Noah would have gotten hold of in the first place. After all, we find those species in the geographical niches in which they would appear to have evolved over many, many years, without some weird pool of abnormal biodiversity in the region of Turkey. I wonder why "it's wood, it's compartmented, and it's in Ararat" seem sufficient for a 99.9% certainty of specifically Noah's Ark--except that it would be a really sensational documentary, huh?

Historically, animal husbandry has been pastoral--where animals are "turned out" to graze with herders overseeing them. They wouldn't be necessarily turned out in valuable "bottom land" that could be worked for agriculture, but would be moved according to season. This would imply that structures built relative to animal husbandry might exist separate from any human settlement, which would be closer to the arable homesteads. About which I am by no means 99.9 % certain, but which I submit as a plausible enough reason for such a structure without trying to nail down what it is before having a good look at it.
