Oh, They'll Get in Line

 

I can recall finally understanding what "elitism" meant to anti-intellectual MAGAs, and basically, it was them being told they were wrong or cruel and being made to feel bad by...anybody. It wasn't about class or education status--it was the idea that someone out there was gonna tell you you wasn't exactly as good as them. So there! 

So, in the H-1B visa debate that is roiling TrumpWorld, Vivek Ramaswamy seems to have been part of the mild fracas happening on X by letting US (White) Americans know they culturally weren't producing well qualified tech job applicants because they didn't rise and grind the way Asian kids do. Too many jocks and prom queens and peaking in high school. MAGA was fine with "pull your pants up and take care of your kids" lectures directed at Black Americans, but if you tell them that their four touchdowns in a single game for Polk High School doesn't qualify them for more than selling shoes, they are going to get Big Mad.

Elon referring to anti-legal immigration racists as "subtards" suggests something that many White People do not know about themselves--you are under-melanated, but this doesn't actually qualify your lumpen-proletariat ass for shit. For the discriminating eugenicist, Caucasoid people who have a family history of anti-social traits are pure and simple bad breeding.  Carrie Buck, you know, was White as me. There is a real thing called "Poor White Trash".  The Nazis had terms like "asocial" and "work-shy". 

I'm pretty sure JD Vance knows that concept as well as Bill Clinton and I do. Fact is, it's epigenetics and opportunity, a little bit of nature and nurture, that unfuck broke people. Some learn how to do empathy and want to unfuck everybody.

But a lot of privileged fucks don't like to speak on it. And some people don't care if there's a group of folks permanently fucked and lied to, the ones I think of as the "mushroom people"--they can be fed shit and kept in the dark and literally fall into the Southern Strategy mindset. Just let them think there's someone else, out there, getting welfare and doing fraud and getting Obama phones, and living large and buying steaks with food stamps. The problem is always external. It's never your Republican elected officials, plutocrats, or the smarmy glad handers in the church. 

And this goes for blaming bosses too. Especially really rich ones. They have their reasons. This is why Pinkertons and turning hoses on people don't get taught as often in school books as they maybe should, even when it's current events. They have reasons why they want foreign workers too. And why they also want the path for foreign workers to be particularly fraught. 

People respond to leverage that hurts them. I mean, they could respond to good pay and benefits, but some people have a different philosophy about things than I do. I blame epigenetics and opportunity for it. 

Steve Bannon is Big Mad his MAGAs are being called racists. 

Bannon has never loved his racist-adjacency being called exactly what it is. 

So where does this go from here? I think MAGAs fall in line. What are you going to do--be some kind of race traitor fag or whatever the gross-slur-laden epithet is going to be? Doesn't Musk define, with his incentivization program of checks and access, what the discourse can and can't accept? 

You can know pretty well what Musk is about. You can even wonder to what degree his lil' loss-leader project costs him. But it has so much it can gain him, too:

It's a tempest in a tea party. While I'd love to think MAGA might realize that Trump is a shepherd who uses his flock for fleece and mutton at will, he's now said he also uses visas for his properties' workers because there isn't anyone in the US who can fold towels, turn down beds, cut lawns, serve drinks, etc. Not at all, not at all. 

Is he the guy who will save your lil' benefits? 

US folks don't have the right education--and DOGE will end the Department of Education that has been used to advance STEM learning in the space race, rfor example, in the 1950s and 1970s. 

He (and his billionaire mishpocha) doesn't give a shit, his wins were never about economic insecurity, not in 2016 and not in 2024, MAGAs want to do racism but can't admit Trump used that shit to divide their dumb asses. And when they get shafted because he/DOGE cuts benefits (and they will get shafted) who are they going to blame? 

The choice is admit they were severely conned or get in line. And only one preserves their bullshit  "honor". 

Even though in the real world, culture war is just one way for true elitists to ensure people are just moving deck chairs around to pretend there isn't a class war actually simmering.
