A Story for the Audience of One

JD Vance was not yet picked as Trump's running mate. Trump within moments of the shots fired was on his feet pumping his fist. No one would have thought that Trump was dead. No reasonable person would have inferred from a single nutter shooting at a political figure that, therefore, all political figures were endangered.

I would not have even assumed all Republicans.

From this, it really seems to me that Vance is just too emotional to be considered for higher office. He relates himself as operating on adrenaline and immediately thinking he would need to resort to violence without seeking more information, which would have been forthcoming within a short duration. Do we really want someone who immediately segues into a knee-jerk hypervigilance to be in charge of anything?

And yet--it reminds me of the folderol we were supposed to expect happened when young Barron Trump came across the Kathy Griffin picture--you know the one:

Trump family sources tell us Barron was in front of the TV watching a show when the news came on and he saw the bloody, beheaded image. We're told he panicked and screamed, "Mommy, Mommy!"

As it was put to us, "He's 11. He doesn't know who Kathy Griffin is and the head she was holding resembled his dad."

Even for a kid at 11 years old, I had a hard time thinking the lad wouldn't understand that if his dad was decapitated, he would not be learning it from tv.  When was it even on tv? With what introduction?

So it's no surprise I think even less of JD Vance's story here because he is much older than 11. But if you want to perpetuate the narrative of the persecuted and martyred Trump, I guess this is a thing you could say out loud during an interview.

Trump was dead, Trump is risen, Trump will come again.

To recognize the blasphemy, I guess you had to have been there. When, like JD Vance, you are a pathological liar--you can be everywhere and anywhere--even the alternate universe when Trump did not miraculously jump up on his feet even after his shoes rocketed off the stage despite his ear either being half blown off or absolutely not.

This story was for Trump. You have to appeal to him, go through him, and think about what's going on in him.

It's one of the mysteries of the faith.
