TWGB: Trump and the Missing Binder

The recent story about a binder of raw intelligence regarding Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election is--

Well, I would say shocking if I a) didn't already not put anything past the Trump Administration, b) didn't assume that was exactly the sort of thing that would disappear. The Obama Administration thought this was exactly the sort of thing Trump would make disappear and made a little list of items that would definitely be missed

And of course, Trump was trying to declassify what I've always assumed was some but not all of the Russian interference intelligence because that "Russia, Russia, Rusia" thing sat over the White House during his term no matter what denials he ever made about it.

(It's very hard to deny something on Twitter, and then turn around and be like "Hey kids, let's do a joint cycbersecurity with Putin!" and not sound like your head was up Vova's ass. Or giving Israeli intelligence to Russia.  Or halting aid to Ukraine. Or any of the other "deliverables" Trump seemed to want to give Putin since oh, Day One of his first term, He'll be doing the same Day One of a second term as well, while also being a dictator.)

We already knew Trump took all kinds of documents. Boxes and boxes. Stuffed them all over Mar-a-Lago. But it sounds like FBI/DOJ still haven't come across this special collection, which would have been a treasure to Russia as a window into how, when and where information was gathered by our intelligence services. I've been saying here on the blog there needs to be a more thorough search on Trump's properties (seriously--why not Bedminster? Maybe the Doral.)

But then again, 2016 is the shame we keep creeping back to. Maybe this is the information Mark Meadows was literally stove piping up an actual chimney.

The thing that revolts me is that the Senate was briefed on this being missing in 2021 and after all the water under the bridge, Republicans don't seem to get it: Trump is compromised. He started out as a very financially suspect and corruptible character,  His campaign was trying to help Russia regarding Ukraine before the election. That Russia was helping the Trump campaign in 2016 is known (it's still denied by Trump's fan club, but facts are stubborn) and there was a whole several-volume Senate Intelligence Committee report on this very thing.

So many Republicans know perfectly well what he is. They had two opportunities to convict this guy after the House impeached. They lived through 1/6. They saw the photos of docs in the Mar-a-Lago shitter. And they know missing information is stuff exactly like this.

If they were patriots, they would be screaming their heads off. This is a national security disaster, And Trump will be strongman, but a satellite like Orban.

They aren't. They aren't screaming. They aren't patriots.
