"Vermin"

 

To honor our great veterans (for whom Trump has done exactly Not. Shit.) the former president (a twice impeached and four time indicted one term wonder--let it EVER be said--until those stats are somehow adjusted) Trump decided to tell us he was going to root out the leftist vermin. Yes, very much echoing Hitler. It's very much shades of : "First they came for the socialists".  (For supporting Biden, I guess "trade unionists" might even be next on his list. His ruminations are all too familiar and frightening. Some of his associates talk about "shock troops"--very knowingly.) 

Some people might want to dismiss it. Hell, I think he has a failing brain, but it's funny how being 'round the bend doesn't stop people sometimes from being their worst selves, especially if they surround themselves with the worst people, and in a second Trump Administration, he most certainly would. 

Trump mentions in the above Truth Social screed "outside forces". He doesn't mean the Russian or Turkish or Iranian folks who might like him back in office. He means the outside forces of--just migrant people who want jobs and a better way of life here? For whom he has inhumane plans--like mass deportations and camps. Muslim bans. The comparisons with Hitler are just shockingly parallel. There's a whole project the right wing in the US has in mind and they ARE NOT HIDING IT. 

There was a time when you could count on the vast majority of Americans to wonder aloud if such a person had no shame and to properly cast his ass onto the shitpile for openly aping Hitler. As if this man's Russia, Russia, Russia connections and criminal adjacency were not enough. 

Trump's fanclub spout that his various prosecutions are signs of a banana republic. It seems to me a banana republic is when the wealthy and politically connected escape consequences for their actions. And when they can boast out loud of the various ways they would abuse the law, and how they would abuse the people they would not serve, but rule. 

I saw this formation of fascist tendencies back in 2015. I understand what Trumpist government will look like. Purges. Arbitrary demands. Weaponization of government. A third Trump term, if he's lively enough. 

And a bad time for any minority person or activist who has spoken against TrumpWorld.  He has let us see the fascism, because he doesn't think, and his associates don't think, it's a problem for him to show it anymore. It's what his fanclub wants. 

We must be sincere in opposing it.
