“Heil hitler” “sir do you think you should be put in an oven”
These “GDL” nazi animals have been terrorizing & targeting Jews & Jewish communities with impunity
Police are refrained from doing anything. This needs to be stopped pic.twitter.com/WGJrt9GZjE
While I could talk about how Trump threw hats at the good folks of East Palestine and offered them his brand-name bottled water, I am more interested in what is happening in the state where his chief rival is governor--his "home" state of Florida (since New York's fine but it ain't home no more). More than a year ago, I noted that Florida Nazis were a very bad sign. I think something is very rotten in Florida. I understand this guy--I do.
He looks like a little pouty potato, but he's always thinking about how to destroy the history he learned so that no one is ever troubled by it again. He's a clever spud who wrote his own book trying to ignore race and its impact on our history, He would rather no one was ever confronted by bad thoughts. So he's removing the libraries and the people who want to remember what libraries used to be.
He's basically hitting several iterations of 20th century literary political dystopia. So, listen to this recent bullshit: people can be sued for pointing out anyone is a whole ass bigot in the new DeSantistan. Like, literally, pointing someone out as being a bigot is so much bad news for you, the noticer of an uncomfortable thing.
Florida has introduced the Empower Bigots Act, HB991.

It would classify accusations that someone engaged in discrimination as defamation per se with $35k minimum in damages. If it involves LGBTQ people and someone's beliefs, truth is no defense.
This is absolutely chilling. pic.twitter.com/sTjxNd255h
If you call a bigot a bigot, you are the baddie, not the bigot. Especially if you try to call out a homophobe or transphobe.
It's bad enough that people who are queer can't say gay--but no one can even speak to their oppression? See, this is telling people they shouldn't exist. They have no rights Florida wants to acknowledge. Also, don't try to reintroduce Black history by making someone acknowledge you--a person of color. If you want to define the ignorance or absence of teaching of your own history, isn't that also a kind of call-out when you bring that up in DeSantis's supposed post-bigotry and obviously bigotry-sanctifying world?
The current Florida government wants to make white, straight, cis, Christian, the default human, and everyone else is second class, and the only woman DeSantis cares about is his. Thus, the rare state first lady with her own page.
I don't know if he wants to run against Trump for the 2024 Presidential primary, or just claim Florida as his permanent kingdom. But I think everything about what he's doing there, dismantling every thing and subordinating it to his gubernatorial will, is very totalitarian, Very fascist-friendly. I don't trust him as far as I could throw him, and I don't think I could throw him that far.I despise Trump. I don't know what I think about DeSantis, but it is not good. I think he appalls me. I think I would like him stopped, but Florida re-elected him solidly. How don't they see what he is?
All I know is, he's been shielded from answering what he's going to do about the Nazis in his backyard, and I think he's okay with them having no reason not to think that he opposes them.
He is almost deniably anti-Nazi, except when he is entirely willing to legally forgive them.
That's how he wants to roll.
