TWGB: Alternative Electors, Alternative Facts

 

Consider if you will the sound of accountability riding an elevator to the penthouse where one man lives-- in his own mind, a master of all he surveys, largely because he's been wearing blinders the whole time. He doesn't see accountability approaching him, but all the same he waits for the dreaded "ding" of destiny reaching his floor. Once again, I'm talking Trump World, which is for all intents and purposes--the twilight zone. 

The New York Times had a big reveal about the cynical hacks cooking up the alternate electors scheme--or should we use the lexicon of the moment before it was corrected and call them "fake"? They apparently had consciousness of their fakery and bad faith. They knew what they were doing danced on the edge of the illegal. And the GOP nominee for governor of my state, who definitely was at the Capitol 1/6, was the point person for trying to throw away my vote, which I still resent. Also, he's a goddamn anti-Semite. (What has two thumbs and hates Nazis? Vixen Strangely. Points to self with two thumbs, super-demonstratively.)

Anyway, it really seems like the DOJ is looking at Trump as a big part of their investigation because yep--they say so. Merrick Garland is definitely not ruling indicting Trump out, despite Lester Holt's bullshit framing. I just want to point out that saying that the indictment or prosecution of Trump is going to tear the country apart is editorializing and framing this possible eventuality as if the Trump stans would be justified for freaking out and fucking up--they wouldn't be. Trump lied in a way that has already caused deaths. His lie, his BIG LIE, and the faith of those who still believe in it, needs to be cratered because it is, in fact, a lie. Framing anything in the way where he plausibly could have won, or that his second term was stolen, is grievous journalistic malpractice. There are no two sides of this story--because look at this shit:

Trump acquired some bullshit lawyers to send a dopey letter to threaten CNN with a lawsuit for them calling his voter fraud lie--the predicate of the insurrection--exactly what it is: a big lie. I will suggest a strategy that saves time and money and lawyer fees; you got the air time--just call him out and say if he isn't a liar, where's the proof his election got stolen? Because Giuliani doesn't have it and the Kraken doesn't have it, and no one has it, because it doesn't exist.  Mike Lindell and all his little friends are still on the pipe if they believe their bullshit because if Trump has any proof, you would put his ass on prime time to get his "proof" inspected. 

That frog won't jump. He's got nothing and is flailing. Even Ronna McDaniel is letting him know if he runs again she won't try to pay his bills. Even though we all know the reason he wants to run again is to run from his legal troubles. Is that not a bitch and a half? 

Anyway, we know now he never did order 10K troops or whatever to secure the Capitol, because he was doing exactly what the 1/6 committee says--sitting on his ass in front of the tv and enjoying the American Carnage.  I don't know why Hannity and Meadows lied about that so often, but I definitely think Meadows will be speaking to the 1/6 committee about that soon enough and understand Mick Mulvaney is also filling a seat. 

Trump has been running on something Kellyanne Conway once called "Alternative facts". In the real world, we call those lies. They are catching up with him. 

Also, the DOJ has been busy calling Marc Short and Greg Jacobs and looking at the fake electors. I am kind of sorry I thought this was just some really performative protest vote thing when I saw it back in December 2020. It really looks like this is where we have a multistate effort to defraud the whole country and steal an election. That is both insane and something people need to do time for.
