Searching for Sara Carter

A Fox News contributor, of all the people in the world, made a very bad mistake by amplifying a viral video purporting to be of a protester trampled under the feet of the "obviously" heavy-handed and tyrannical fascist government of notoriously insane and not at all PMILF Justin Trudeau. The woman is fine. Someone threw a bike at the horse and the horse is fine. Ted Cruz left a tweet up about how terrible this was for longer than the story lasted after anyone followed up, but I guess he's okay, but like, no, everyone check in on that guy because he's been way more signifying than usual and that is generally a sign of people being not okay in his world. like is he worried about liability for stirring up the crowd at 1/6 and his reputation stinking more than usual, because wow. Nice time to notice.

So, the reality is, the pro-trucker crowd were denied their Ashli Babbit for the time being. For what it's worth, Sara Carter eventually dropped her story and Ted Cruz deleted his Tweet, but the idea that the response in Ottawa was trampling the FREEDUMBS of the protesters will live on, because that was the idea. Asking the Fox News audience to even consider the source is probably too much. Asking Fox News itself to consider whether running with this is definitionally journalistic malpractice is stupid when you consider Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity exist.

Of course they lie! It's their job. Their relationship to journalism as it should be practiced is like rassling's relationship to actual sports. The practitioners are obviously gifted, but they are doing a work, not a shoot. And it's fake. Fake. Fake. And the ramifications of people believing in them are far more meaningful than whether the Undertaker really defies death or whether an atomic leg-drop is really as physically devastating as it looks.

So I could ask you to consider who Sara Carter is and why you would even think she's an honest arbiter of what's going down. But almost no one does see (their preferred source of the right political hit) journalists in this light--not even the dumb network shits who hire propagandists for their supposedly real-real news shows. That's how Megyn Kelly got a contract she was dropped from at NBC. This is how 60 Minutes got Lara Logan when she was already busted. And Fox News is not the ones who will drop people just for being wrong--or not exactly. I mean, they dropped talking about the Clinton spying lie even if they never corrected the record because they were nearly busted by Durham himself. And I wish Dominion all the luck with their lawsuit

But in the meanwhile, people have been clogging up Ottawa's 911 system with complaints because of internet influencers, and this could interfere with actual lives. Community services aren't a game.

Stupid people are still doing this.

And it is damaging and wrong. Ottawa is a real place, a city with real people, citizens who live there, and deserve peace and safety. The "convoy" (blockade) is denying them this in the areas they tried to occupy.  We need more Talia Jane's, and not any Sara Carters.

But money makes Sara Carters and need makes indies. I generalize. But in this time and place, considering the source has gained an incredible urgency.  I want people who strive to get it right in real time, because it matters. I want politicians who care to know what's right before they sling in and try to politically capitalize. It matters.

We hardly know how much, but it does.

UPDATE: Also for what it's worth, Canadian protesters are concerned for their First Amendment rights. In Canada. And I worry for all our North American concepts of civil rights. We clearly have not educated people very well.

But this individual has mislead because she doesn't know what's up and does not care. Canadians have a right to peaceful protest. They just don't have a right to the destructive nature this protest is. They don't have a right to damage livelihoods and disturb the peace indefinitely. She is being deliberately provocative.
