So, a funny/not funny thing happened in Colorado, where conservatives made up a thing where Venezuelan gangs were taking up whole blocks of apartments. Which meant of course, if that were true, the first place ICE would have to raid would be those occupied dangerous gang apartment scary no-go zones, right?

Right?

Well, they did! And SOMEHOW, everyone and their mother found out about it, and the op was even delayed for a bit? (Even though ICE raids are basically, just like, Tuesday, even during the Biden Administration.) But then they did the thing, with hundreds of guys. Like, a whole multi-agency thing. 

Anyway, I guess everything was very disappointing for the Trump Administration, because maybe there weren't as many arrests as they hoped? So they sacked the experienced acting head of ICE. People figuring out there would be a stepped-up ICE presence out there was definitely the result of "leaks". And Kristi Noem is ready to get out the polygraph tests to sniff out the real problem in why deportation preparations have broken down, promising to get you and your little dog too if you were a DHS employee responsible for leaking. (I may have made that last bit up.)

Now, I know that you know that I am not one for spreading rumors, but the ICE guys are already letting people go as an actual fact. They cleared out the people they had in Gitmo. 

I don't know what they are doing, and I don't know if they do either, and this was the cornerstone of the whole campaign--explicitly NOT Project 2025, which they are very definitely doing. 

That's weird, right? The Trump Administration is definitely screwing with immigrant communities, but in a weird, dumb way divorced from reality. 

So, is this mostly theater?

Yes and no! It's mostly theater because TrumpWorld does hate immigrants but is also inept and noncommittal because the reality is, US Americans hate immigration more in theory than in actual practice. It's pretty hard to arrest people you sort of made up and for whatever reason, they have to pretend to catch them and then not. And lots of other dumb-looking stuff too!

I feel like this would be called some kind of government inefficiency, but as it happens, there is absolutely no one overseeing actual government inefficiency,

Not anyone! They actually fired all the inspector generals, and the GOP is in charge of congressional oversight, so you know how that's gonna go. Like, what are they supposed to have, a bunch of clever kids and their DOGE pouring out of a "Mystery Van" to solve stuff? 

Literally not one single mature adult would think that's even a thing. Seriously Saturday morning cartoons for some kind of small child or total pot/shroom/Special K addicted f'd up loser. 

Luckily, we can't think that's who is in charge of the government right now. Because that would be way too stupid to be real life!

UPDATE: I think I missed the best part, which was where Kristi "Jazzhands" Noem made a $200M ad thanking Trump for all he's done the close the border already. Which is very nice of her, since he told her to do that.
