Nailed It!

The triumphal return of Trump to Butler, Pa, the scene of his would-be assassination, is best understood through kitsch. Everything about him is. He is a Lord of Misrule, and  his feast days are necessarily cringe. They feature things like a description of how he died.

Yep, he died. The songless Joe Hill of the owner class entirely died at Butler, PA.

Miraculously, he was shot in the head and the bullet struck exactly nothing that Trump ever used or needed. Halllujah and maranatha!

Do I sound sarcastic? Maybe a little! The attempts of the Trump crowd, who lie about whether Trump lost in 2020 and keep lying about the response to the recent hurricane, insist some nefarious "they" was behind the young man who got precipitously close to murdering a former president and did, in fact, murder the man who had "the best seat in the house". That's a thing too grim for me to even make up. Trump even expressed surprise that the man's family loved him more than money. Don't get him wrong-- he may be crass but what he isn't going to do is come up with new material--he said similar things when Steve Scalise was shot.

So what did Trump do amidst the idea that the political rhetoric needed to be calmed down? Well he alluded to Stop the steal, uh, lied about FEMA some more, and he and his running mate presumed that the kid who missed him was part of a shadowy cabal of people who want Trump bankrupt and shut up.

Trump is great at bankrupting himself, and everyone will tune a joyless whinger out eventually. Without suggesting that Team Trump loves the idea of him under peril, he's certainly fundraised off of it and it might make him look sympathetic, if that was something he could try to be.

But a statue of Trump, dead and risen, made of nails, though. It's just so very, very on the nose and also so very discordant.

Oh, oh! I'm in a CABAL! I, too, cannot wait for the day when no one mentions the name trump.
He deserves nothing less than being consigned to the dust bin of history.

Bad Vibes

I woke up Wednesday morning in the same world I woke up in the day before. I wasn't sad, not disappointed or even depressed. I checked...
