The plane I saw on television was the hostage plane in Geneva, Switzerland, not the plane carrying $400 million in cash going to Iran!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 5, 2016
So, after two days of saying he saw the plane sending pallets of cash to Iran, Donald Trump Tweets that, no, that isn't what he saw. This leaves us to wonder if he misinterpreted something he really did see (hallucinating the "pallets of cash" part) or intentionally twisted the story to make it "better" (more damaging for Obama Administration, and Hillary Clinton by extension.)
But it won't matter. He is counting on his audience believing what he said, even after he has retracted it. And this is Trump, after all--just because he Tweets a thing doesn't mean he won't say the opposite later.
