Priorities?

It is interesting to try and understand Congress' priorities by what they are willing to spend on.

For example, word is that the US House will spend over $5 million investigating Benghazi--which has already been investigated, but will spend a bit over $3 million on the Committee on Veterans' Affairs. You know, the way the VA and other institutions fail to do justice to our veterans seems like something that should take higher priority than what I still insist is a partisan circle jerk.

In other news, President Obama requested $3.7 billion to remedy the situation at the border, a plan which will include beefing up border security--but Congress is lukewarm on the idea. It really seems like they are okay with complaining that nothing is being done, or complaining if Obama acts by himself, but if they have to actually do something...eh.  Priorities.
