Context!!! (Do check out NonStampCollector at Youtube)

I do wonder how people pick out the wheat from the chaff when reading the Bible. It seems arbitrary enough to make the whole thing seem--not so much divinely inspired as, negotiated by human beings according to their own current civil mores.

Hmm. Fancy that. There are considerations of morality that aren't dictated by "revelation", such as one's sensitivity to the ideals of one's tribe. And things that were cool in the Bronze or Iron Age, aren't always now. Which leads one to wonder if to a degree, all of morality isn't more of a social construct where rational beings try to function together in an imperfect world--no?
