Tim Pawlenty gets a glittering.

The protestor who gave the bland former MN governor a shiny pink shower asked Pawlenty "Where is your courage to stand for gay rights and women's reproductive rights?" It's a fair question, but Tim Pawlenty simply doesn't stand for gay rights or women's reproductive rights, at all. Denying the rights of other people is apparently what his version of courage is about. All in all, a well-deserved glittering.

Pawlenty and Cain: Better Campaiging through Nonsense.

Former MN Gov. Tim Pawlenty wants voters to associate him with what he's calling "A Better Deal".

Oh, wait. I'm not cutting and pasting this. Just go to the link, and you'll see where Pawlenty is proposing a plan that will drastically cut the revenues of the US government and raise the costs of services to everybody (but disproportionately the needy, amirite?) by privatizing everything.  He thinks this will spur growth. I think this will spur growth alright--of the federal debt! Also, too, increase income disparity at an even faster rate.  It's kind of the most horrible proposals all crammed together with a hastily drawn crayon sign pasted on reading:

"See? BETTER".

I find it hard to believe he's seriously putting this out there as a real economic vision--does he have economics advisors at all? Or does he just listen to guys dressed up as Founding Fathers?

But peculiarly Tea Party nonsensical and odd as Pawlenty's economic plan appears to be,  I think Herman Cain has him beat--

He's promising not to sign any bill longer than three pages.

Three pages.  That's a good size for a pizzeria menu.  It is a ridiculously small size for a congressional bill.  But he got a lot of applause when he said it, and that's what counts!

I was going to blog yesterday about Mitt Romney Forming an Exploratory Committee.

I just totally forgot

So, former Governor Romney joins Fred Karger as one of the brave few who is seriously thinking about running in 2012, and not merely thinking about thinking about it. Out of the field of possible contenders, I would have to say, I almost like him.  I don't want him for president, but compared to Gingrich, Palin, Huckabee, Bachmann, or Santorum? Romney doesn't actually make me feel angry and sad about politics. And he definitely stacks up admirably against political dilettante Donald Trump.

(Despite The Donald's Art of the Deal, etc and flashy self-promotion, he is no....Mitt....Romney. Romney has a proven history of turning businesses around and making them profitable--not figuring out creative ways to lose money whilst self-promoting and then taking advantage of bankruptcy laws.  p.s. I know nothing about business, I'm just starting shit and pissed at Trump.) Also, Romney has always appeared to be a committed family man and, although I know this country just isn't that shallow, he certainly is a damn handsome man. I'm talking, like, Robert Wagner kind of handsome.

Given the field, I wish him luck.

Also, T-Paw is kind of running, for realz. He thinks he's going to out-fund raise Bachmann or out-pander Gingrich. This is funny to me. But have you seen his adverts?

America, fuck yeah! (who's Tim Pawlenty?)
