“The Trump administration is not refusing to share power with an opposing party. It is refusing to follow the constitutional limits of a government that its own party controls completely,” @jonathanchait argues. https://t.co/BLf6KSSlSs pic.twitter.com/wPtTTdgW2i

I know there's good reason to just reminisce about when bipartisan shit was possible, but my biggest problem with this Trump infestation is the epistemic closure--the failure to have any light that lets in the darkness that is absofuckinglutely going to happen.
So, the Bush folks felt ecstatic when they got the White House--finally! In 2001. After two long terms of the Bubbas! The grown-ups were in charge! And they pretended the little thing with the missing "W"'s was a big old riot of Democrat malfeasing--
And they didn't have their eye on the ball about the PDB that said Bin Laden was planning an attack on our soil.
This is where I think the Trump people are. Trump is off-gassing about "owning" Gaza, He wants to ship about 2 million human beings who have already been through some major shit to Jordan or Egypt. These countries obviously don't want to be responsible for about 1 million each refugees. Trump should know that, because he doesn't want any kind of refugees, ever, here in the US.
He's taking out experienced foreign office and military professionals, He's offending the hell out of our allies, and making the likelihood of sharing intelligence less favorable. He's putting in naifs and flakes in important roles.
And then says really offensive shit absolutely guaran-damn-teed to stir up some pot somewhere.
It's like he figured out antifa isn't going do a Reichstag with any credibility, so he needs an international crisis to go create bizarre national powers for himself.
This is just me, paranoidly projecting a catastrophe because I can still add 2+2, but also--isn't the whole Canada 51st state and Greenland and Panama and all just so bizarrely provocative that it could not at all come from a sane mind?
And Trump also says "I" will own Gaza--like it's his own Real Estate Baby? Like he already thinks he's going to profit?
He's crazy, and all the folks fluffing him up are crazy from pretending he's sane. What his motormouth is saying is asking for terror. I'm not wish casting--I'm reading reasonable tealeaves from his cup.
JD Vance, he doesn't want you for a successor. GOP Congress, he doesn't care that you exist. He wants power and his brain is too broke to get through an interview with Fox to not sound like a whole dipshit.
Is this what your party stands for--or to be honest, kneels down and hangs low for?
Or will you wake up and try to protect the homeland before it's too fucking late?
Because once it happens, you own it. You own him. He is your disaster waiting to happen.
That he is undermining our democracy is something we have gotten used to. And we should not have. But it is also true, and horrific. But I think only how he is inviting the outside disaster will make any impact, which is itself a horror.
But it absolutely does not have to be this way.
