Trump Fans and the Book of Marks

So, word on the street is, Truth Social is basically Facebook for fools and you can roast all the pigeons you want there all day every day.

Gizmodo submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the FTC for consumer complaints about Truth Social filed in the past two years. The complaints to the federal agency include some stories from people who’ve been banned from the site (unjustly, they claim) and others who say they got signed up for mailing lists they never wanted to be on in the first place. But the complaints about scams are the most shocking, if only because there are such large sums of money involved. And we’re publishing a sample of the full, unedited complaints below.

One person who says they lost $170,000 explained they were initially scammed on a different site but met someone on Truth Social who claimed they could help get their money back. That turned out to be a scam as well. But more often, the victims are first contacted on Truth Social before being told to take the conversation somewhere else, like WhatsApp. Truth Social seems to be a target-rich environment for people who are easy to con.

What? The people who think Trump is a stable genius entirely capable of running a country even when he is--this guy--and who don't bat an eyelash at his Trump Foundation fraud or his Trump University fraud or his tax fraud or his hush money fraud or his extraordinary habit of constant pathological lying, are susceptible to scams? Wow! Who would have thought but anyone, ever?

Truth Social is basically a table of con games occurring within a larger con game.  Trump is running for president to avoid jail and enrich his businesses at public expense--you know, like he's going to hork up taxpayer money from his Bible grift

I have a hard time sympathizing with these people. I really don't have anything to add to this. I remember being mildly outraged that he was using recurring donations and rooking old people for his campaign, or that he was collecting "Save America PAC" money for lawsuits that never happened about the supposed stolen election."

But I let it go. Some people just learn things the hard way, and some people never learn at all. It is not my mission field. They lay down with Trump and get up with fleas.

It could bother them more that Trump is an apparent con artist who attracts other cons around him. But if I am more concerned about that then they are, I can just take that for what it is.
