TWGB: Impeaching Trump By Accident?

We are not at a serious point in this Biden impeachment inquiry--that much is sure. In the spirit of Jim Jordan, who has unseriously referenced random unrelated things like the 1/6 pipe bomb, the bag of coke in the White House, and the leaked Dobbs opinion, to do what other than pretend the Biden Administration is awash in scandal, I don't know, let me get my inappropriate rhetoric on:

You know how we have all these options in the "dairy" section of the supermarket these days? Vegan and lactose-free vegetable-and-nut based milk substitutes showing up on our shelves to give options to people who either can't or prefer not to drink animal milk? Anyway, I see these varieties and am pretty happy that people have choices to fulfil their own unique dietary requirements and tastes. Almond and oat milk both taste pretty good to me. But I see some people complain: How can you milk a soybean? How can you milk a cashew?

Well, I don't know about that. What I do know is that in this impeachment inquiry, the House Republicans don't have beans and they don't have nuts, so I don't know where they think the milk is coming from, but the cow done died ages ago.

And that is why in the image above, Rep. Raskin is smiling and Comer looks like his life is flashing before his eyes.

Rep. Stephen Lynch made the point of the day:

That's just facts.  We are reminded once again of what Trump was impeached for the first time around--he used the State Department and DOJ and directed the OMB to place a hold on Congressionally authorized Ukraine aid. And here we are now, and the House Republicans are putting on a show trial with the exact same debunked bullshit to try and dirty up the Bidens that Trump wanted Zelenskyy to put on in order to interfere with the 2020 election, only now for 2024, and it's Speaker of the House Mike Johnson that is holding up the aid to Ukraine. After putting on a bullshit show of rejecting the weaponization of government, they are using taxpayer money to use their positions to try and influence the 2024 election.

With information Lev Parnas lets us know came from Russia. And being pretty but not dumb, we know who holding up Ukraine military aid benefits. All this Biden impeachment stupidity has done, is verify every part of the first Trump impeachment--like it recapitulates it down to the letter.

So, the House GOP thought they were inoculating today from the obvious by posting on Twitter:

It literally was never a hoax. They are actually still soaking in it. Nine entire asshole Republicans just voted that they are okay with the Russians kidnapping Ukrainian babies. And we've known the witnesses the GOP are bringing are dodgy.

It really feels like the House Republicans never really understood what the first impeachment was about and are still out of their depth. Sadly, right-wing media isn't where the big picture is going to get straightened out for Trump fans. But damn, this was not a great day for the stupid impeachment among people who do pay attention. It truly did take us back to how TrumpWorld is always about the GOP being either unwitting or fully witting Russian catspaws.

If they are this dumb--how do they live? If they understand what's going on, how do they call themselves patriots and not stop it?

Sometimes even I lack the words.

I saw, well, it was three or four weeks ago, a poll that showed that 47% of the voting populace was unaware that Trump has been indicted on a single charge. You may know the truth and I may know the truth, and God knows Fani Willis and Jack Smith and Driftglass and Kos and people like that may know the truth, but those 47% have the power to control who our next President is.

One of the most unnerving things I ever realized about 1/6 is that there were some folks who broke in that day and were not aware that the White House was not the Capitol building. But they cared passionately about electoral law!

Perhaps even scarier than 47% of the voting populace being unaware that Trump had been indicted is the likelihood that some very large percentage of that group would vote for Trump no matter what.
