Oh, Democrats accomplished something, too, last night. They flipped George Santos' seat, making a Republican slim majority that much slimmer. I'm sure that will help reduce the chaos! (No. I am being sarcastic,) Is it unreasonable to suggest, though, that a Democrat got elected in large part because Republican's seem like they can't get things done?
Is Mayorkas likely to be convicted for the high crime of being a Democrat in the Senate? No. But that isn't the point. It was about sticking up a stubby middle finger at Democrats for any reason. You may ask, isn't it hypocritical after the games Speaker Johnson has been playing regarding the border?
Remember--Republicans are NEVER hypocrites. If there appear to be two standards in place, one for them, and one for others, why! That is how they believe it's SUPPOSED to BE! You can't shame them with that.
But no, seriously, after rejecting the combined border security/foreign aid package, Johnson again is playing in everyone's face, ready to torpedo this bill because--there are no border security provisions. As everyone with a memory longer than a that of a goldfish can recall--they had such a deal!
This is a shell game played with see-through plastic cups. The shuffler is Donald Trump, the pea is Speaker Johnson's brain. They can't do a border security deal because then whatever will Daddy Trump run on! They can't fund Ukraine's defense because it makes Daddy Putin mad!
(On the latter subject, several GOP Senators so beclowned themselves--Messrs. Graham and Rubio particularly, and Vance less so because he already was a well-known clown, that I have scrapped a few drafts trying to encapsulate their ignominy.)
So, let's give the House GOP a tepid golf clap for having done one thing this year. What is next? More Hunter Biden impeachment shenanigans with questionable witnesses and witless questions? Putting up the foreign aid package anyway by a fiddling of the rules? Another CR in March? I know! Maybe they should go for another change of House Speaker!
Could they do worse?

Cause and effect, it all makes perfect sense ... ten or so years ago couple of Mormon monkeys out where I grew poached a deer;
then they started a fire to cover up the poached deer;
which attracted the Bureau of Land Management's attention
not surprising, they had to fly a hot-shot crew out there to put it out.
Then the Bundy Boyz and the Nevada NAZIs* showed up;
broke into a tourist kyosk that was closed for the winter;
and called it an armed insurrection. Dude died for it
Time passes: last month firefighters out there trying to do preventative burning were convicted of reckless burning, having been arrested and jailed thus by the same "sheriff" that let all that happen in the first place
