TWGB: Civil War Solutions to Modern Problems

I think it's very fitting, after all, that Donald Judas Trump got a ruling against his being on the ballot for fomenting an insurrection under the 14th Amendment, because that remedy was a solution to insurrectionism post-Civil War, and the "1776" plan from Trump and his little friends was not a revolution for the sake of freedom, but a peculiar invocation of a civil war.  Because Trump losing made some people big mad and they believed stupid fraudulent shit about Chinese thermostats and Italian satellites and stuff. It really isn't more intelligent than that.

I think the Colorado State decision makes a lot of sense, and frankly, I don't personally care if it's popular. Trump's favorability with his party doesn't mean anything to me, because look--how many people supported the Confederacy? A lot. They lost.

That's the point. You don't like the 14th Amendment, go crazy kids, vote for legislators who definitely want insurrectionists to hold office. Pro-treason in defense of random bullshit your whole face off.  But as for me, I will vote for Democrats and support the Constitution because I'm not a whole-ass traitor. You don't vote for pro-insurrection and pretend you are a patriot. You don't get to lie about the election, or pretend Trump is innocent regarding what happened on 1/6, and even have my glancing respect.

We can all understand that Proud Boys stood back and stood by--until then, and Oath Keepers broke all their oaths that day. It wasn't antifa and the feds, it was Soft-Skulled crabs who were so proud of themselves, they selfied and posted to social media their civil war disobedience.

Sure, Marco Rubio and a host of other Republican faces are going to front this as a monstrous decision. Really? The melee on 1/6 was the THIRD Stop the Steal Rally. Trump always pretended his election was stolen (or STOLLEN). It was based on Trump's BIG LIE. It would be great if they could side with the Constitution and reality, which would mean copping to the overwhelming reality that Trump lost and had no reason to throw a shit-fit with his little fan club. But they aren't grown enough, apparently, to go there.

Can Colorado do that? I say "States' rights, Mudder Fuckas." I mean, the way Florida had the right to a whole recount under their laws in 2000 if some dumb entity didn't intervene. Which I am still mad about. But they were using the US Constitution as a basis, and I dunno. Frankly, the same court knew all the cases the Trump campaign had were solid trash. They are already on the bench. And it's only Thomas I would really think needs to recuse

And several states would or at least could follow. I wish we all could look back at Trump and properly feel anger and understand why he has no business running, now, how he is bad for America and for the GOP.

But the GOP is too squishy and boneless to admit what their peerless feeder is. What a virtue-sucking vampire he is. They could have denounced him at any time, and never did

But someone surely has to. And I don't know how many losses it takes before MAGA understand that they have been marks for a monster. They have been complicit with treason. They are not the heros of their own story, but villains for standing back and standing by while Trump divided and fucked up such a wide swath of this country.

All I know is, SCOTUS would be reveling in infamy if they were to fuck up and let Trump have total immunity, but they would surpass that infamy over again if they decided his insurrection was a matter they couldn't parse from his actions but had to wait until the DOJ case that Trump wants so badly to delay.

But so what if Trump stays on the ballot. His fuck ups are nonetheless his baggage, and we should properly tie the albatross of his failures to him.
