The Liberty Mommies Got Too Comfortable (UPDATED)

They apologized*, but it wasn't an accident. It was an accident on purpose to just let the mask slip and see who responds.  The SPLC is right, they aren't any different from the Proud Boys (who they do hang with). And leaving aside the Orwellian name (whose "Liberty" is anti-LGBT book banners for?), the idea that any child's mind is "owned" is appalling. They complain about indoctrination in schools--they only want their own special kind of indoctrination.

Only fascists and complete imbeciles would think they are good faith actors.

UPDATE: I wanted to get back to what constitutes an apology*, though: the organization Tweeted that the newsletter should not have quoted Hitler without condemning him, but it's the fault of the lying media that it was presumed that their quote was intended favorably. I mean, really? Because Mary Miller used that very same quote saying "Hitler was right about one thing..." and used it to say the unspoken bit aloud: yes indoctrination, but our indoctrination. This isn't even the first time for the mommies.

And as for the group's "we are just concerned parents" schtick, it does sucker in the opportunistic, like Our Darling Nikki, who wanted to align herself with what some might assume (people who should know better and have the investigative resources to find out better) was just activist common-sense conservative parents. But these are the kinds of "concerned parents" who make terroristic threats to children's hospitals  and perform disrespectful stunts such as coughing during a moment of silence for Holocaust victims because they are small-minded mean shitheads.

Being a parent doesn't mean you can't also be a terrible person. Terrible people are having kids all the time. These mothers should be treated like the exact kind of people they are--namely people who have no right to dictate to other people how to raise their kids and whose little mean brains have no business determining the curriculum for whole communities. They want to indoctrinate their own kids? Take them out and homeschool them (although, that can be pretty horrible too.) But their parental rights end where other parents' rights over their own kids begin. And they need to be stood up to.
