Don Blankenship Sentenced to One Year



I think the salient point is that 29 people lost their lives because a CEO viewed his employees as an abstraction--work units, not human beings whose safety mattered. And one year in prison and a fine of $250,000 probably will not change that kind of mindset. Not for Blankenship, not for similar-minded people in the industry.
