One of the funny old things with being Secretary of State of the US is that it means you have visited foreign heads of state because this is actually your job description. Of course she spoke confidentially and maybe even at length with a head of state. She does that. Has done.
I don't think she is actually "beholden" though. See, this is an old term implying she got anything and therefore, has to do anything. We might find that Trump is beholden. We won't find that Hillary Clinton is. She gets her money the old-fashioned way--maybe Wall Street speaking fees. But you do have to choose sometimes. She isn't beholden to Russia--but she knows how to deal. I like her.
