I wrote a post but Blogger eated it when I went to fix the video HTML-- but at any rate, the walk-out is symbolic of the degree to which Speaker of the House Boehner has no control over these Teahadists.
Milbank has described Boehner's relationship to the Tea Party freshmen pretty well, here.
Benen points out what actually just happened, there:
It’s worth emphasizing that the House Democrats at this point really just want a vote on the Senate bill. Republican leaders gave their word that they would allow this, but then changed their mind when they realized the Senate compromise might actually pass if brought to the floor.
(Emphasis, mine.)
Basically, Boehner has loose cannons all over his deck and he's totally at sea. And yet, you'll hear him whinging that Harry Reid needs to bring the Senate back, or that President Obama needs to encourage the Dems to compromise--because he can't do his job.
That's pathetic.
