Madelyn Dunham, 1922-2008
Madelyn Dunham, beloved grandmother of Barack Obama and his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, has passed on just short of election day. I think it's a shame she didn't get to see him take the White House, but I have to believe that in her heart she knew he could. She was apparently a formidable and extraordinary woman. In Obama's words, a "quiet hero."
My thoughts are with her family.
