Q. Hearing John Kelly's disturbing revelation about Trump's admiration of Adolph H!tler, does it change how you feel about Trump?

Chris Sununu: No. We've heard a lot of extreme things from Trump. With a guy like that, it's kind of baked into the votepic.twitter.com/sMTbZicUrJ
So, I wanted to get this off my chest--fascism being "baked in" is the reason you REJECT a candidate, not the reason you support him.
I might charitably presume Chris Sununu thinks this is Trump saying "extreme things" that he does not mean, and that he can differentiate the extreme things Trump says from what he intends to do, and from what those who surround him want to do. If this is how he is looking at it, he is deeply stupid, because people who support extreme words do so because they like them and want them to be so. Trump says them because he gets away with saying them and presumes that he can do what he likes later on, because he has persuaded enough people that the previously unthinkable is permissible.
Sununu tells himself this is the direction that he believes people are going. So--he is following a multitude to do evil? He is being a go-along-to-get along, imagining someone else will fix the problem of fascism? Or is he willing to get his hands dirty, too?
Separate a family yourself. Put yourself in the place of someone who will take a child away from parents they might remember as if in a dream. Send someone to die. Be fine with shooting protesters in the knees. Support the Big Lie about the 2020 election and justify--not defend but try and justify, the Blutfahne raised over the "political hostages" who tried to overtake the Capitol--the seat of US government, on 1/6.
Because he is tacitly doing it already. He might not think he is before he goes to bed at night, but he is.
If I was a news show anchor, and this was tried on my set, I would excoriate this poltroon. And never let his ass back. He might not even be left with an ass to have back.
The US was a major part of ridding Europe of Hitler--who saves us? There simply is no other America--we have to save us, and we can't with birdbrains (an insult to birds) like Nikki Haley, or just--goddamn, whatever pedestrian, feckless, still pro-Trump Republican person thinks the moral stand will be something they can put off until tomorrow. When it will supposedly become more politically convenient.
So if anyone wonders why I, who am not a fan of the Bush years, can nonetheless give the Cheneys their propers, or welcome every principled conservative who understands why you don't ride Trump's dick because you are therefore riding the dick of every dictator he wants to fuck with, understand he will immiserate the American people with unfreedom, far from the plan of our Founders, jettisoning the Constitution and all the arc of history we hold dear, well--
We have a job to do. And that job is fighting fascism. If our greatest generation did it, so must we.
When you concede to fascism in cowardice, the blood is on your hands as well. JD Vance called Trump America's Hitler in 2016, and supports him now--nothing changed, the truth is only more apparent.
It's trite to say we are better than this--many people might not be. But more of us should be. Now. Not later. Because later might not come.
