I couldn't let the senator's passing go unremarked on the blog, as he provided such an amazing highlight, with such good outrage and preparation, when he threw the phrase "shitty deal" back at Goldman Sachs to let them know he knew that they knew exactly what they were peddling to their investors. I relished that moment because he tried to make them hear themselves and I admired that. He was a voice for government transparency and ethical government and a supporter of civil rights. All in all, he was great example of a dedicated public servant--an example to learn from.
