Red Sky At Morning, Everyone Take Warning

I started this year blogging about Fire and Water to mark that climate change is real and disastrous, and its effects were manifest around the world. These days the fires are close to home on the West Coast, and it's a terrible time to be made aware that not only does our current administration care little about it but they have tried to politicize federal aid in the case of west coast wildfires, and in the case of hurricane-related damages. (People are still looking into the exact death toll of Hurricane Maria, which still may not be wholly known. The power has never been fully on in Puerto Rico since then.) The images from California and Oregon are eerie, like something from some future dystopia we are living right now.

People are displaced and rendered homeless by such events, and by now, one can almost speculate that Trump does not care about this, because does he even seem to care about the folks rendered homeless and displaced by the economy that exists in the wake of his COVID-19 response? Don't displaced people lose the address from which they once could vote, for example?

Even Trump's neglect can be construed as purposeful, once you've fathomed how shitty a soul can actually be.

I feel like a red sky today. I want to warn. Take warning.

Before the Woodward Revelations, I was already mad because the DOJ wanted to become the Department in Defense of Trump's Dick. The DOJ, used as Trump's personal attorneys against a defamation claim lodged at Trump the man, the actual human person who stands accused of raping E. Jean Carroll, who saved the dress she wore that day. And has accused a man with all the power in the world of raping her in a dressing room, when she could have stayed quiet, but damn, this reprobate human, this multiply-accused abuser, this thing? My tax money going to defend this transparently louche fuckwagon from the waywardness of his own dick? He doesn't deserve any taxpayer money to defend his notorious appetites or his slanderous tongue. Fuck off with that shit.

But following on the Atlantic story, which some want to deny because some very close Trump associates (read: biased) don't or can't back it up? Woodward gives us confirmation that Trump certainly sometimes does talk shit about military folks, like generals who don't agree with him. He truly has been notorious on this score, regardless of the flags he's humped.

But beyond Woodward, a whistleblower has come forward talking about how Trump's improperly-installed tools, Wolf and Cuccinelli, downplayed Russia interference in elections and white supremacist/right wing violence and played up the danger of antifa. Wow, like they weren't even qualified professionals doing their actual jobs but monkeys doing what they were instructed to do, huh? That is worrisome.

And last--Pence is gonna go do a fundraiser with Qanon weirdos with money, just a wee bit after Eric Trump's wife, Lara Lea Trump, who I very much want you to know does collect a salary from the Trump campaign) supported Lara Loomer, an all-around weirdo. The FBI says they are dangerous weirdos, but Trump will accept any help whatsoever. Like, even from Russia, and then downplay the intelligence that it was ever a real thing.

But of course the Russia, Russia, Russia thing is real, no matter what Trump says.

It's all infuriating. My mind's eye is red sky. I don't see anything but anger about this administration and what they have done, the harm they allow to be done, the things they have no control over, the things they exacerbate.

Trump should resign....and so should the little poodle dog who laps up his vomit, Mike Pence. Every sack of rancid chicken gizzards, like Sen. John Kennedy of LA who supports him, needs to be thrust out of their positions.

We deserve better.
