Who Does This?

I really don't know how hard it would be to offer a heartfelt "I'm sorry if she felt that I was remiss in my offer of condolences and am deeply sorry for her loss"? It's just basic "Human 101".  This isn't about his feelings or his recollection of the call. It's about not picking the wound over and over.

What a jerk.

Vixen, inasmuch as I am a veteran and therefore know a lot of other veterans, I find it incumbent on me to explain that most military families appreciate a call from the President. And the largest number of military people would find Mrs. Johnson's reaction puzzling.

I find it harder to understand why the president of the entire country would make time to start a Twitter war with a widow instead of just squashing it. He wouldn't even of had to admit guilt. Just a sorry for the misunderstanding.
