Bannon off National Security Council

Okay--this is the really funny (weird, not ha-ha) thing:

A White House official said that Bannon was placed on the committee in part to monitor Trump's first national security advisor, Michael Flynn, and never attended a meeting. He's no longer needed with McMaster in charge of the council, the official said.

The Trump Administration needed a monitor for the guy who they fired seven weeks ago, but now they are good--Bannon can leave the National Security Council in good hands. Got that?

I'm mostly just working out what the whole "de-operationalization" mission was about. I guess "minimize the foreign policy role" is what they were going for, but it came off like "render less effective". He still has clearance and can attend any meeting that requires his expertise, but since he did not have foreign policy experience, I think that's just fine.

UPDATE: Energy Secretary Rick Perry added to National Security Council. Hope this does not involve meat. It does involve nukes, which is exactly the sort of thing I worry about.

I suspect that Trump got sick and tired of taking orders from Bannon. Kushner is probably smart enough to flatter his father-in-law and make him think that he's in charge.
