Maine Gov. LePage is Offensive

Maine's governor says and does dumb stuff all the time, but it's really hard not to listen to this and think, "Damn, that's just offensive." He used an explicitly racial characterization. But while that by itself is pretty offensive, he then goes on to make a non-apology where he blames everyone else's lying ears for what his dumb mouth said. (I think the best contortion is where he says that he didn't mean "white women", he meant "Maine women", which are 95% white.) I honestly think the "apology" was more offensive than the original comments.
