But Ben Stein, who, so help me, I could have gone my whole life knowing as the "Bueller. Bueller?" guy, went ahead and said something extra-obnoxious. Here goes:
Stein, who has described the president as “anti-white” and questioned his background, speculated Obama actually hated the United States.Does anyone run for president having their whole autobiography questioned to hell and back, and live under Secret Service protection, and be alerted periodically by various agencies that folks would like to kill your ass and still show up to work all the time trying to enact upon an agenda that does things like turn the economy in terms of the stock market and unemployment figures around, while still trying to keep us out of a major war we do not want and can not afford, and tying up necessary ends like icing Bin Laden and al-Awlaki and mostly keep us safe these last several years because you somehow don't love this country, or at least care an awful lot?
“I think the question is why is he so angry at America?” Stein said. “I don’t think there’s much question that he does not wish America well. He has a real strong hatred of America. Is it because he’s part black? I don’t know. Is it because his father was mistreated by the British in Kenya? I don’t know.”
That's just asinine. See, if anyone says out loud that they believe that the president might be anti-American because he's "part Black"--I will come to the understanding that that person's major objection to him is racially based. It's not that Barack Obama hates American because he's "part black". It's because he's part black that Ben Stein thinks he hates America. And that says more about Stein, you know?

Vixen, I apologize because this comment is not about Ben Stein. I was going to say something about your pumpkin post, but it went off the page.
I wanted to mention that that was a very fetching witch with wild red hair, and I wonder who on earth could that be. Who do we know with similar hair?
Hah! I used red because black would be too dark against the hat, and blonde was the same color as the moon--but come to think of it, there is a "family resemblance".
