What is the World Coming to?

I remember when the Columbine massacre happened, people were stunned for weeks and months afterwards because school shootings just didn't happen all the time. But here we are, at 74 school shootings since Sandy Hook. About one a week. And one solution suggested is for kids to hide under bulletproof blankets in case of an assault on their schools.

There is something terribly wrong with this picture.
