Climate Sunday: Extreme Weather Events of 2012
Ecowatch provides a list of the Top 10 Extreme weather events of 2012, which includes Superstorm Sandy.
Extreme weather is one of the more severe signs of a warming planet, and events like the devastation wrought by Sandy, and other storms, may be more persuasive than discussions of the science to many that climate change is real, it's happening, and something should be done. I really think that for those of us of a certain age, we can genuinely say "It really wasn't like this when we were kids." There weren't as many weather freaks and they didn't seem as damaging and deadly. A change that you can actually attest to within your own lifetime definitely has a cognitive impact.
