Transgender Day of Remembrance

It's a bit late, but I want to share that this marks the 13th annual International Transgender Day of Remembrance.  It remains shocking and shameful that people are losing their lives to this day for their gender expression, and only by remembering the violence that has been done can we truly appreciate the need for understanding, education, and combating the ignorance and hate too many people have for those who are only trying to be themselves.  This day is only one day set aside for remembering the lives lost to bigotry and violence, but every day is right for working to end the bigotry that leads to that violence.
