The Strangely Gifted Justice Thomas

I've been following this conflict of interest business regarding Justice Clarence Thomas and keep feeling this prickly sensation like there's an Imelda Marcos wardrobe worth of "other shoes" that should be dropping.  Apparently, Thomas has been in the habit of receiving gifts from, let's call them, well-wishers, if not actual interested parties.

(Or what the hell, let's call it what it looks like--he got big old gifts worth big old bucks from obviously interested parties. It doesn't look good!)

This being the sort of thing that has brought down justices in the past, I don't think this petition is at all premature.
