Creationism study at Liberty University--

Can't embed for some reason, but here:

Creationism at Liberty University.

This is the kind of thing that really bothers me--this is an accredited university, but the people studying there are just not learning science. If they were, they would be learning the methods of how things like carbon dating are worked out for accuracy, and what other supplemental measurements are used, and they would be thoroughly taught in the mainstream science--where evolution is the accepted theory regarding species diversity on this planet, before any attempt at critique. I'm just not persuaded that people who maintain that they have "debunked" the theory of evolution actually understand how it works, over what duration, with what subtle mutations, how comparative studies of DNA of modern species backs it up, how intermediate or transitional species are identified--

There is a lot of information I'm pretty sure they aren't getting that would really elucidate the matter for them. But they are *paying* (or their parents are paying) for this creationist mishegas.

And some of these students want to go into science. Good luck to them. I hope they they pick up something like Dawkins' The Blind Watchmaker that makes the problem of complexity a bit more understandable before they go out there with "God did it" as their main thesis--which, not surprisingly, is the hardest theory to actually test, measure, or reproduce in lab conditions.
