Very cool Steampunk architecture at Web Urbanist--

I had to link to this to share with my casual wanderers-in because I really think the artwork in this feature at Weburbanist is super-cool. The artist is David Trautrimas, and the medium is ancient household appliances. But the plausible and fanciful futurescapes he incorporates them into is a fascinating display of creativity. Because he uses older appliances, the look evokes retro-future, but also has a kind of delapidated quality, as if we were viewing something in our future, but past the better days of the edifice in question.

Anyway, check it out. Sometimes you can kind of make out what the bits were before they were re-purposed into art, and that is part of the fun with these pieces, too.
