I'm going to say--yeah, she is trying to leave open the possibility of a young earth. And the really problematic part is--her amendment passed. Why the science looked "iffy" to the Board such that they needed to leave the interpretation wide open is....well, I would say meaningful. They want to back-door Creationism.
Oh, well, maybe students will learn about the consensus opinion regarding the age of the universe in the playground, just like they get their sex-ed and so on.
