Another Senator undone by his own ad?

I mentioned how it looked like Elizabeth Dole's rotten "Godless" ad looked to be her undoing. I also can't help but notice that the general theme of negativity from Senator McCain may have harmed, more than helped, his campaign. But Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) looks to actually run the risk of being bitten in the behind in his up-coming run-off against challenger Jim Martin, with the help of an ad he did six years ago.

Oh, yeah, and the help of Senator McCain, who means to campaign *for* him. Here's a look:



The smearing of Max Cleland was totally low, and Sen. McCain was right to call Chambliss out on it then. It went something like this:



What changed McCain's mind about the character of this guy? That's just another log on the "what's changed with John McCain" pile, I'm afraid.
