I could be deep for July 4th, but I made a concert instead:

Check out these random American-flavored musical treats, and have yourself a happy America's Birthday--and don't forget, our Founding Fathers on or about July 2, 1776, decided to be traitors, and collectively signed a piece of smoking hate mail to King George the 3rd. Some of them were already terrorists, having done subversive things like the Boston Tea Party. They, and patriots since, have recognized that "American" doesn't mean easy, and freedom really isn't free. It's been fought for on battlegrounds, but it's also fought for in courts and in Congress. We all have different opinions and priorities, and that's a good thing. It's weird, and it mostly works. I like it, and I like my country--so here's some tunes:

Have a super cool Independence Day. Do something patriotic, though. Read the Declaration of Independence to some young people. Donate to some political candidate you really like. Exercise your freedom of speech and write a letter to your paper or your Congress-critter about something that gets you heated.
