Vacation Blogging: Lahaska

Or to be more to the point: Peddler's Village. This had been our Thursday day-trip--a pleasant 22 miles from our little corner of the world, as I like to say, "nestled in a kiosk in the Franklin Mills Mall." It's a nice daytrip--but I would recommend that if you really want to do the Peddler's Village thing, even from a wee little hour drive away--you may want to consider bed and breakfasting in the vicinity so as to take in Penn's Purchase and really explore New Hope (like the New Hope Winery--a smidgeon up RT 202) and environs.. It's a blast--not exactly a jewelry and book haven like Main Street, New Hope is--but the Peddler's Village has some mighty fine eats (Like Earl's Prime--where I had like, one of the best soups--a lobster bisque--evah! and Casa Casale--totally excellent shopping if you like to do Italian Cookery--which I do! We got some super big pasta and really excellent olive oil.) Shout outs to Skip's Candy Corner, The Soap Opera, and the Chaddsford Winery shop--places I could easily linger.

My caveat is this--wear some sensible shoes. It's a lovely walk--but you will be walking: be sure to stop at Aunie Em's for an ice cream if you go when it's warm. (I got chocolate chip mint--that's my favorite.)
